Get the latest book about the tragedy called FLY BY NIGHT by Steve Chain. It's excellent.
@TRINZINIАй бұрын
Thanks for the reconstruction ! As mentioned in the excellent book FLY BY NIGHT by Steve Chain, the scene of Vic yelling alone at the helicopter (at 0:35, described as "The Rage Scene" in the book) was shot before the fatal scene (at 11:30 PM, while the fatal scene was shot around 2:20 AM). Everyone on the set was AMAZED that Vic Morrow himself did the scene (considering how dangerous it was AND that a stunt man was available at all times to replace Morrow). After the Rage scene, John Landis apparently said through his bullhorn : "Ladies and Gentlemen, Mister Vic Morrow !" and the whole crew applauded Morrow. He took a bow and quickly went into his trailer to rest until his big final scene at 2h20 AM. Too bad that at this point, Morrow didn't just say "Man, that was way too intense ! Get the stunt man. There's no way I'm doing that again." but Morrow was such a professional that he just went back and did it again and ... the rest is history.

It may have saved Vic, but killing a stuntman and those kids is not really any better.
@TRINZINIАй бұрын
@@janss52 A younger, professional stuntman might have cleared the way faster than Vic (53 years old at that time) who couldn't because he stumbled and dropped the little girl at the last few seconds.
@janss52Ай бұрын
@@TRINZINI Yes, that's possible. But it seemed to happen so quickly. I think there were just a few seconds between the rotor going on the copter and the crash. I don't know that anyone could have seen what was happening and gotten out of the way. They wouldn't have even known which way to run.

Great video , with some good info... but, maybe cutback on the piano music a bit. It's kind of louder than the voices, making pretty difficult to focus on what's being said. 🤷

Awesome video..1 question..did you contact his stunt double to make sure the hair clip & gum wasn't his? I hope it was Brandon's but I definitely would've checked that if you already havent.

Very cool!! But didn't the stunt double wear the coat after Brandon's death? The hair clip and the gun could actually belong to the stunt double.

Wow this video and I seen several really shows the chaos and noise !! I'm not an expert on film editing but couldn't the part of the helicopter sequence be filmed separate from Vic's part ? The idea would be to put the 2 separate film clips together so it appears the helicopter pilot, Vic and the children are together at the same time. What about Vic having the boy on his shoulders and the girl being cradled in front with his arm's ? John Landis should have been fired from Hollywood and never be a director again. The pilot needed his license revoked and from there I don't know what else should been done. What ever happened to the children's parent's and were any charges ever filed against them ? The parents are just as guilty since they violated child labor laws and put their children in harm's way.

Not bad really. Very interesting original photos of the time even if a few inaccuracies. I read where Peggy Satarlee's age on her driver's license was forged and that she was 21.
@cameronjosephvideos59425 ай бұрын
Even without the danger element. The noise, the heat of the explosions, the roughness with which Morrow needed to carry them. Landis can try and brush it all up to a freak accident all he wants, but even if those kids made it through this scene, I can't say for sure they would've been at their best psychologically.

The fact you bought something of Brandon lees is awesome and the battle of you guys on who owns it instead of we both own it is funny but if you want to preserve something of that caliber it’s best to wear white gloves where if any dna of Brandon’s is on there you don’t taint it with your fingerprints which could effect the cost and value o the props. I own a full suit of keatons from the bell tower which is on a mannequin and in a temperature enclosed box and always handle with white gloves. Maybe think about that

About 40 mins in when they're talking about Lenny Bruce, you can see just how corrupt the police and government is. The US Constitution is a joke, it gives us nothing but a false sense of hope that our country ever was or will be truly a free country. They literally arrested him for jokes he made on TV and continued to harass and chronically arrest him on bulls*** charges, not just for the rest of his life but even after he died by treating his death as a humiliating pay-to-view peep show of his naked corpse.

This is important footage. I've been interested in this incident ever since it happened. But the only footage I'd ever seen was the 'money shot'. This extra footage really puts it in perspective. Landis should have done time. When you're the director, the buck stops with you.

He set that up to have an “accident “. John Landis is evil. He wanted to kill somebody. The Director as monster imagined he was a god.
