You can press record with no tracks armed, and record to the hidden tracks 11/12, then swap those with 9/10 if you want to bounce down to 9/10

Yes! No need for that routing on the sub-out. Also, no need to be switching Live to MTR, everything can be done in MTR only.

I got a question 🙋🏽♂️, im using the x32 Producer. And out puts 7&8 are the main left and right outs. I have the mix going out 7&8 but i cant figure out how to control the loudness of outs 7&8? And also how do i setup the board so that all my EQ setting and effects are also applied to whats going out of outputs 7&8? What am i missing? Help please 🙏🏾 thanks in advance.

Hey man, you want to change the main outputs to outputs 15/16 to get control of the volume by using the main (L/R) fader far right on the board. Hope that helps.

For the life of me, why did they use cheap switches for MTR and Live outputs. Wear them out with time. Old ideas with this when the rest is digital.

I'll check later, but just off the top of my head... I think you can send an input to a monitor without sending it to the mains in 2 ways. Option 1 - Select the click track channel and turn off "stereo bus" to turn off the send to the mains. Then you can unmute the channel in the monitors and it will never go to the main. Option 2 - Just keep the fader on the click track channel down in the mains (with "sends on fader" off) You have to unmute the channel because it's a "master" mute for that channel, but as long as you keep the fader down it won't come through the mains and you can send it to other monitors using "sends on fader"

Question for anyone: When mixing to ‘armed’ 9/10 via sub shouldn’t its mode be set to Live, not MTR?

It's been a while since I've worked with this board, but I think you're correct on that! The channel that's doing the recording should be set to live, and the channel being played back should be set to MTR.

Works both ways. You can use MTR only as long as you arm the track.

Great clear explanation. I got a 12 about a year ago and now I'm refreshing my brain to see what I know and what I missed. It does a lot of stuff I won't use but I am learning other stuff and ways to do stuff that I will make use of. Thanks, great video !
