You'd think it's almost a Southern accent, if you weren't being careful 😉

I'm from the UK. In my area accents change a lot every 10 miles. Yet there are very few distinctive American accents. There's New York, Boston, the general Southern accent. The others sound t he same

Everybody from Chicago don’t sound like that that’s how the white folks talk and you have to think, Chicago is a segregated city and every neighborhood you have different ethnicities because blacks don’t sound like that at all most blacks from Chicago have down south roots from Mississippi and Memphis etc. Chicago doesn’t really have a distinct accent. In my opinion.

I want to preface this by saying I’m Jewish and my question comes from a place of admiration. A lot of people are hating on this video, does anybody have any suggestions for a better video? I’m working on an impression of Jerry Springer that I’m doing for a comedy bit, and he has a fairly typical New York Jewish accent.

Stalin's plan is mainstream American academia, mainstream news media, and government! Great video, but doesn't sound like the Russian-accented English speakers I met over the decades.
@accentactor27 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the feedback @alancranford3398! You’re right-it’s tough to capture an authentic Russian accent. My version might come across as a bit of a 'Stalinized' caricature! 😄 As for the 'mainstream' commentary, I can see where you're coming from-it’s always interesting to look at the parallels between history and modern society. Part of the fun of these videos is diving into those ironies, and it’s great to hear that connection resonated with you! Thanks again for watching, and stay tuned for more history-meets-humor content!

@@accentactor I wonder what Stalin's Georgian accent sounded like in Russian--and if Stalin spoke English, what that would have sounded like. Would the English have been a "real English accent?" Most of the English-speaking Germans I met have an American mid-western accent overlaid on their German-accented English. I used to be able to tell Berliner from Bavaria and was familiar with the Rhineland accent when conversing in German, but that has been 35 years ago.
