Hi Abu, I have lived in Ontario for over 2 years after landing as a FSW EE PR but have worked fully remote for a Quebec Based employer. I have an Ontario DL and OHIP health card and have always filed taxes here. I should not face any issues with the "intent to reside outside Quebec" requirement while applying for citizenship right? Thanks
@aembewe
@aembewe 5 күн бұрын
You should not face any issues. Residency is about where you live, not where you work. You live in Ontario, you work in Ontario but for an employer based elsewhere. That's not an issue at all.

It's not worth it. The rewards suck and the transactions and payments take forever to post.

Can I swap International Licence for The Quebec licence or is it just National only
@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah
@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah 7 ай бұрын
You do not need an "international licence" in Canada unless if your licence is in a language that is not English or French. If your licence is already in English or French, you can exchange it for a Canadian licence if the country that issued your licence has a licence exchange agreement with that Canadian province. If not, you would need to do a knowledge test and a road test before you can get a Quebec licence.

Hi, I got my PR through CEC, I live in Ontario but I plan to move to Quebec in the future. Do I have to wait until I become a citizen to do so? Thanks
@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah
@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah Жыл бұрын
Did you intend to move to Quebec when you applied for PR through CEC? If so, I wouldn't move to Quebec. If something changed after you got your PR, I would try to settle elsewhere since Canada is so huge. I wouldn't risk anything by moving to Quebec. Others may give you different answers but to be on the safe side, try to settle in Ontario OR any of the other 9 provinces and 3 territories, so many opportunities outside Quebec.
@Andres1941
@Andres1941 Жыл бұрын
@@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah no, I did not intend to move. I have family in Quebec so that is why I am asking if it is ok to do it when I get my citizenship. If it is safe to do it, I might wait to get the citizenship. Thanks
@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah
@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah Жыл бұрын
@@Andres1941 When you get your citizenship nobody cares where you live, even outside Canada, but for now I would recommend settling in Ontario for a while and then you can move to Quebec. Technically as a PR you can live anywhere but I am not someone who likes taking risks with immigration stuff so I'd rather wait it out a bit.

At the port of entry when you sign your COPR, ask the immigration officer if you can provide your friend's address in Montreal, just explain the situation and they will guide you accordingly.

Hey Abu, I'm a FSW through EE. I have good reasons to stay in Quebec if needs be (family), and in my application I stated that I intend to reside in Quebec at some point. Is that a mistake that might cause refusal? I also submitted a web form to explain my case and that I won't reside in Quebec ultimately.
@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah
@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah Жыл бұрын
Check your application tracker and see if you've passed eligibility. If you have then that's fine. As an EE applicant it doesn't mean you're not allowed to set foot in Quebec, you are allowed to go to Quebec, but it's settling there that's risky. If you have a plan to leave Quebec after going there initially, that should be fine, but don't indicate that you intend to settle in Quebec. If I were you what I would have done instead is to mention wherever you intend to settle e.g. Ontario, and then after landing, visit Quebec for a while and then move to another province later.

Thank you good video. I don’t know, I was born in Vancouver and lived here all my life, but when I look at Sherwood it looks to be very boring. I don’t see any kind of a center in Sherwood where people go for coffee, shopping, eat, bars, music, theaters, coffee shops. In fact when you went to the mall it looks like a ghost town, no people. In Richmond where I live in British Columbia, you drive 5 min and you are in a vibrantI part of town. I was thinking of buying a home in Sherwood but I think I would go stir crazy. Are there a Home Depot, Costco, movie theaters, restaurants, coffee shops, there or do you have to drive 30 min to the city?

All of those things are in town. I think he ran out of time and didn't show very much of the interior of town and wanted to show some of the acerage homes. I have no idea why the mall was so dead on a Saturday at 7pm.. lol. I wondered the same thing.
