love how shes so focused on how close they were and how everyone thought they would kiss but Cait also was looking back and forth between each of Vi's eyes to make sure the shimmer didnt adversely affect her

I am a straight male.............the Vi/Cait "romance" is the greatest thing I have ever seen in all of film. To the point where I don't think I should be able to see it. (I feel like an intruder) I don't know how to explain it either.

What's interesting about Caitlin is that she's not afraid to help people, especially those from the Under world, or whatever its called. Like, the hug she gave to that guy with glasses says everything about her. Maybe that's why Vi grew closer to her.

watching this again before s2 comes out because i’m super excited to see her reactions to it. I’ve seen so many commentaries on arcane but elijah is like the only one that picks up on the details within every single caitvi moment. Part of that definitely has to do with her being gay herself which i’m glad we have someone who is that watches this show and picks up on things a lot of other creators miss.

One of my favorite 'little things' is how Caitlyn's mom reacts when she catches the two of them... like, this is clearly NOT the first time she's caught Caitlin sneaking a girl into her room. Also, given the conversation in the rain after the council meeting, I am convinced that it was the writer's intent for us to believe that something more happened between the two of them than we were shown - not necessarily anything sexual, but certainly something intimate. 'What about us' doesn't happen 24 hours after you meet someone just because you touched their cheek once. That transition in the final scene where they shifted from Caitlyn's desperate scream to her mother's face as she voted for peace - just masterful. The entire show is just a masterpiece, plain and simple.

Well from one perspective, given how precocious Caitlyn is framed when she was a kid, it probably isn't that out of character for her to just invite people home to play in her room. Probably not even just girls. That one guy character she is friends with, and established to have been a friend of her for years, was probably invited too. To play cops and robbers or play with toys and stuff. So yeah, even avoiding any implications that her mom is aware of her possible sexuality, that behavior itself isn't that uncommon for kids. I remember as a kid (back in the 80s and early 90s), of playing with other kids and then following them home for a snack or whatever. And it just being like "Hi mom! This is Steve! We came for snacks and juice!" and the mom being like "oh...um...ok....hello Steve, nice to meet you." So I could totally buy that from a purely platonic angle. Given the way the show frames Caitlyn's sexuality as perhaps something even she isn't really aware of yet, I doubt it's a case of her having girlfriends snuck into her room in the past. So I don't think her mom knows in that kind of way. She's just something of a tomboy given her love of riflery and similar athletic pursuits, and so her coming and going with kids is just part of who she is.
