The Bikeriders was extremely hard to watch, not like it was a bad movie though. It was just so upsetting the things that Jodie's character had to go through. Although she loved her husband, she was just getting dragged through the mud getting caught up in the rivalry. Phenomenal performances, especially from her

It is always hard to watch when someone is swept up in a world of crime and corruption. Scorsese presents this very well in his movies too.

I have been waiting for somebody to mention how outrageous the end of the movie was. I won’t give any spoilers, but to those who have seen it I am not against any type of person and how they’re born… It’s just that the ending was suddenly thrown at us. Kind of like someone suddenly grabbing a book and throwing it at your head. It had nothing to do with anything. Another reviewer seemed to mention that maybe the ending was more fleshed out in the book. Maybe it would’ve made more sense with a little more added to it. But it’s like the ending had nothing to do with anything. They literally made a movie about four or five people where they fleshed out their probability of trying to become pope, and again without any spoilers, when they present the answer at the end, instead of being any of the characters that the movie was about it turns out to be the Purple bunny rabbit from the alien planet Malartus.

Excellent book and movie. My respect for the Roman Church has increased several fold: yes, it’s made up of imperfect human beings but it is a powerful spiritual force in today’s world.

I'm sorry, but to me the law of diminishing returns applies in spades to this movie. The movie was nothing but a showcase of practical gore effects. The victims are ill-defined meat. If this came out 20-30 years ago it would have been considered provocative. In 2024, where movies like August Underground are over 20 years old you need more than a chainsaw up the ass to get a rise out of people. If people like it, so be it. It's just sad that GREAT genre films like STRANGE DARLING and RED ROOMS will get overlooked, and that based on the box office of T3, there will be at least another 2 movies in this series.
@MattsMovieReviewsАй бұрын
Thank you for watching! I understand where you're coming from. By all means, Terrifier 3 is not in my top horror of 2024, but I found it to be a good representation of that sub-genre of horror. Will review Strange Darling soon as well. Let me know of other 2024 releases you would like me to tackle.

@@MattsMovieReviews Red Rooms is a French Canadian film from 2023...I thought it was excellent. IT just dropped on iTunes recently. It's the polar opposite of T3...even though they both involve sadistic murderers...but I found far more memorable.

This quote: "The system your are using to interpret reality is not one of your choosing. Numbers, language, color, shape... all a misinterpretation of the information around you, a misinterpretation imposed on you by an invasive lifeform which is trying to control your consciousness. The substance you ingested temporarily counteracts the influence of the invasive lifeform, that is trying to force you to perceive the information in the same manner as itself, in a linear fashion; to perceive choices as having inescapable outcomes, outcomes it has dictated to you, thereby controlling all of your choices, in effect eliminating them. It achieves this all by influencing you to perceive the most elaborate of all misinterpretations: TIME." ...is genius. And makes me think perhaps Christopher has had a mystical/psychedelic experience to inform such profundity ;)

I had a lot of fun with this movie! Some story struggles and plot issues for sure but the chemistry between Ryan and Hugh soared and the characters of Deadpool and Wolverine as this odd couple through this multiversal adventure was what made this movie worked. I don’t think it saved the MCU, but it put a nice button on the end of the Fox Marvel franchise while being hilarious and 100% authentically Deadpool. Great review!

I feel like I was tricked into watching this movie. The trailer and description on Disney+ makes it sound like a modern retelling of Frankenstein, which I guess there are some similarities, although minimal. What I was not expecting, was a seedy old Greek mans pdf.file fantasy about a sexually promiscuous _infant child._ Though now I understand why it was so popular in Hollywood. I'd seen some reviews talk about "the apple scene" and the gratuitous "furious jumping", a term from the film I use reluctantly because KZbin will censor anything else. I simply figured these people where just modern day GenZ prudes who are scared of naked women. But they were right. Most of this film belongs on the Hub, and adds nothing to the overall story. We get it, she's discovering herself, but we don't need that smashed over our heads for the next two hours, especially when she is supposed to have the mind of a child. 🤮 But putting that aside, the movie goes nowhere and writers obviously didn't know how it should end. It was at least 30 minutes too long, and concluded with the message that young women can only truly be strong and independent from men, their "toxic masculinity", and the prison of marriage they try to keep you in, by rejecting those traditional values, and having countless relations with men much older than them for minimal financial profit. A lesson I'm sure the pdf.files in Hollywood loved seeing shared with impressionable young girls around the world, just to satisfy their sick fantasies. Gotta get that next generation on the casting couch somehow, right? 🙄 I guess I'm just a toxic white male, so my opinion doesn't count to Hollywood. But seeing naked Emma Stone with the mind of a newborn bang older men for two hours does absolutely nothing for me. The film would have been much more interesting if it followed her intellectual development and learning about the world outside of Godwin Baxters laboratory, but instead it just devolved into two hours of identity/gender politics, and pushing a radical feminist idealogy that can best be described as demented and unhinged. Basically, it's just two hours of Hollywood openly fantasising about their favourite topic, being intimate with underage children. Terrible film.

Matt: "If you don't like it, don't buy the rights to it." So true. It was bad enough when Spielberg photoshopped the guns into walkie-talkies in "ET", but then Disney started adding those silly trigger warnings to classic movies. It sounds very naïve now, but at the time I was shocked that artists would bastardize art for politics. I immediately set about gathering personal copies of all my favorite movies.
