Rhys loves jack and looks up to him. He never hated Jack. Even in the end you have the option to keep the eye. He doesn't hate jack. I don't understand why people say this.

They don't hate each other. Rhys idolized and trusted jack all the way till the end assuming the player doesn't call him a psyco the whole way through. And Jack, assuming you go the trusting Rhys route (idk if he says it any other time I've only finished my first play through today), says that he should have expected Rhys to betray him because it's what everyone he ever gives a rats ass about always does to him, basically saying he cares about Rhys even if just in a friendly or mentorly kind of way. The rest is just anger and betrayal from both of them to each other.
