As always, wonderful video! I also appreciate that you made an oopsie, because it teaches me things that more than likely will happen to me (and possibly saves you a video about it. Ha!) I also appreciate you explaining which excel file to use. I don't know the difference in the comma delim. and comma separated. I can't thank you enough for all your help.

Hi, Mrs. Barnet . I have been watching your excellent videos and I have a question. I started learning QBO in 2022 and I made many mistakes as repeated transactions, etc. How can I get rid of the old transactions from 2022 that still show in the reconciliation page? Thank you in advance for all your help.

The taxes were filed with the IRS with these mistakes. The correction of this is very dependent on what happened so you can unwind it. I have three options, you can schedule a free consultation and we can discuss which option will work best: www.gentlefrog.com/meeting/ Option A: Training calls with me, it will likely take more than one depending on the situation. Option B: Our $399 clean up course will teach you how to fix old errors with QuickBooks. Option C: You grant me access, I take a look and write up a proposal for Meghan (my bookkeeper) and I to fix it for you.

@GentleFrog
@GentleFrog 4 күн бұрын
If you have sales tax turned on you can't, currently, import your invoices into QBO using their importer (it's supposedly coming, but they've been saying that for a while). You can use 3rd party apps. I've been very happy with SaasAnt for importing data into QBO. I have several videos on it, none specifically on importing invoices but the process is similar for whatever you're importing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5iTqaGBpZmegc0

Thanks for all your help. I'm so frustrated with the new templates. It doesn't let us take off the service/product or even change column widths. Or am I missing something? We have a lot of 2-page invoices now because we can't stretch the description column out. Oh well I guess. I was using our old template, but then you can't preview or do some others things.

Hi! What if the payments are being made by 2 different parties? For example an insurance company pays 80% of a service and a client pays 20%?
@GentleFrog
@GentleFrog 9 күн бұрын
You can make two invoices 80% & 20% from an estimate and then change the "bill to" to be the appropriate person/entity. Or you can manually calculate the 80/20 split and make two separate invoices.

Hello! Hoping you can answer my QB question as I can't seem to find the answer anywhere else. Our business only uses sales receipts when we charge clients, we don't invoice at all. When I draft the sales receipt, I tell QuickBooks to record the sale in our checking account. When I go to my checking account register, it always records the sale to the Undeposited Funds account instead of the income account. I've updated our settings to automatically record all sales to our checking, but it's still booking to Undeposited Funds. Each month we have to journal entry our way out of UF account to our income account, but we shouldn't have to do that each month. How do we go about fixing this? Thank you!

Thanks for your content and sorry in advance for the rant! Like many recent QB feature launches, this update is ill-conceived. The rollout itself took several months and believe it or not, my accountant subscription still hasn't forced me to switch to the new layout. I'm so confused about what the purpose of the "custom form styles" setting is used for now and where updates to sales templates should actually be made. Also this update seems to only affect invoices, but not sales receipts?? I also recently discovered that if you update to the new invoice layout, you'll lose the ability to send invoices for signature in the QB app. Btw, that feature is ONLY available in the app and customer/accountant support has virtually no guidance to offer when it comes to the app. Very disappointed in this sloppy release.

Hi! Thanks for your videos! Our company was just forced into a conversion from desktop to QBO. It ended up severely botched and we are having to learn a new language so to speak, overnight! We are a commercial storefront construction company that does progressive billing. We are used to certain reports for tracking vendor expenses by project exclusively for waiver purposes, as well as ongoing sales tax . New QBO reports don't show split accounts for material vs surcharges and freight charges, or ALL costs by job. Any suggestions?

So do you mean that once a Sales receipt is created you shouldn't put the amount in your bank account and make a deposit because it will create a duplicate? In other words, you avoid making this type of duplicate by putting it into Undeposited Funds correct?
@GentleFrog
@GentleFrog 27 күн бұрын
Yes, when creating the sales receipt don't select the bank account for "deposit to" select "Undeposited Funds". Then when you do create a deposit later that sales receipt will be in the undeposited funds, you'll select it from the list to add it to the deposit and you won't end up with duplicate transactions.
