I used to think that CP70's/80'S were too too tinny but it depends what the settings are and what amp it's going through

Hi there! I know this is an old video, but I just was fortunate to buy one of these and like yours in this video, it doesn’t have the second rear brass rod coming out of the sustain pedal up to the body in the middle back. I’ve seen those on other pictures but don’t know their function. Would you mind sharing? Thnx!

Tori Amos played one of these on her 1991 performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival, I love how crystal-like it sounded.

This piano was the latest fashion in music back in the 1980s. Electronic music and the Yamaha CP-80, was essentially '80s fashion. Of course, electronic music was not original to the decade because it has been around long before 1980, but nevertheless it was, and remains, STRONGLY associated with it, just like the color pallete yellow, magenta and cyan, brightly colored clothes and makeup, women's shoulder pads, and digital typeface.

Listen, you sounded fine during this demo, whoever you are. The Baldwin transistor organ is one that I remember reading about in the chapter of vintage synthesizers dedicated to these classic organ models. This is, I think, the first time I’ve watched a demo of one here on KZbin. I wasn’t conscious they were manufactured in Italy; I thought they were built here in the US.

A friend sold me his 70 in 2007. Like a complete fool, I let it go. If I was going to enter the market for another Yamaha electric grand, I would want it to be an 80 instead. I know a few of them were outfitted with MIDI. I wonder how many of those remain intact and available on the preowned market. Is it doable to have it further outfitted with USB?

The action on these pianos is great! I bypass the electronics on mine which gives it a “warmer” tone

Sound quality of the recording was one of the crapiest examples of the wurli sound that I’ve heard on you tube. Very bass heavy and distorted. Doesn’t give the Wurlitzer any of the glory it deserves.

I love Rhodes pianos. I've owned two, and they are so difficult to carry to gigs on your own. Great tone/sound though. But I wish they were more manageable to transport.
