This is a rousing, blood-curdling number and a fitting tribute to the great man. Thank you, Nigel, for your excellent video 👏

I have fond memories of this song. Used to contemplate with a friend at uni about the extend of space and the meaning of life whilst listening to this song over and over again. Of course, alcohol enlightened our most certainly brilliant minds ... 🤣

My mind is made up, I'm changing faster. Your mind is made up, avoiding worries. My old image is set to fade away. Forget the talking, Forget the actions, And quiet voices and all that happened. In just one hour You could knock me down. The twos are one now, And ones are fuller. No longer giving, No longer taking. These ways are tried, They never seem to fail. And when you're asking, You sound like telling. Despite the questions You're not receiving. I can't explain Why you disappear. ---- Your mind is made up, The time is taken. You reach decisions; We can't avoid them. There's no success No matter what we do. The twos are one now, And ones are fuller. No longer giving, No longer taking. These ways are tried, They never seem to fail. These ways are tried, They never seem to fail. These ways are tried, They never seem to fail. These ways are tried They never seem to fail.

This was 'handmade' electronic music, literally. See the documentary how they made the early albums. Not the computer produced bilge produced today by computer programmers, not musicians.

Amazing to think they did the first two albums on a low-end Korg Micropreset. Two kids with very little money and a lot of heart.
@forestfire12323 жыл бұрын
@@jpalvarez4972 even a low end synth like the preset would be pretty expensive for them. Around £1000. And they were on the dole.

For many, three hundred years of unbelievable agony of body and spirit creates an indelible scar on the soul. At its worst, murder, brutality, anguish, utter despair. At the least, a casual unconcerned prejudice. Is the sum substance of life history in America? For many it is. But some say there must be more than just this (justice).

OMD respected Kraftwerk so much, that when OMD were playing in Germany, Kraftwerk went to their concert ... Probably to see what the English competition was? OMD have the melodies and harmonies which is so different from Kraftwerk. OMD live performance are like "Electricity", energy and light!

Has any more perfect song ever been written? OMD could have progressed to be recognised as one of the best bands ever.
@jpalvarez49723 жыл бұрын
They are recognised as that in certain circles. Rolling Stone and NME rarely tout them, but less blinkered publications like the Quietus and Classic Pop often do.
@BuyOneGetOneFree3 жыл бұрын
@@jpalvarez4972 Yes. They went a little astray in the mid and late 80's but the quality is there to be found by those who try. Tracks like this still sound so raw and fresh 40 years later and will cement their place in history. To their credit OMD came back strong and have more to offer yet. No Grammy for them this year but the nomination demonstates the elevated position in which they continue to be regarded by many who are qualified to judge.

The deep state were concerned about his speeches on civil rights, but when started galvanizing poor black and white workers against wars and exploitation; that's when they decided to murder him. It was calls for an to war and better working conditions that got him killed, not civil rights.
