Ive always thought this song was The Moody Blues. I was blown away to find out it's Procol Harem... Amazing song!!!

I always wondered about the inspiration behind this song. I chose to believe that it's homage to Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca and the hardships they endured.

@@10gems-musiclibrary72 It's sort of the general vibe that comes with this track. Across most of Jon Bois' Dorktown, Chart Party, and Pretty Good, when this song is played, often shit is going to hit the fan, like that time he played this in the Randall Cunningham episode of Pretty Good, when summarizing the events of the relevant NFLPA strike that was precisely destroyed by Tex Schramm. It's dreadful. It's awful. It's... Pretty Good.

I did the album cover art for Michael's first album, Snow. During that time Michael would just show up at our studio, Visual Variations, take out his guitar and play while we worked. It was wonderful.

I am 59 and live in myrtle beach now and I am proud to say that this song is my all time favorite song of out of many genre. I just love to sing this song at the top of my lungs 🫁 with a tear or 2 streaming down my cheek. I would love to get to a recording session to hear my version. But I think Gary Brooker would still have me beat! Haha haha

ANYONE,...Anyone here remember a band called Rat Race Choir ? In the early to mid /late 70's they were the hottest club band in the Tri -state area (NY/ NJ /Ct ) They would perform this and it sound exactly like you were at the concert with Procol Harum right in front of you
