First time seeing a beneficial bacterial culture made from scratch. Just a few questions. 1. Can molasses be used to replace brown sugar? 2. How much of the made bacteria would you recommend per gallon? 3. Have you ever tried feeding this bacteria to feed your daphnia cultures? Maybe you can test out it on a few daphnia to see if they can survive and culture on it? 4. I don't have any BB to kick start the recipe so I'm guessing wait 4 to 5 days it would be ok to use? Afterwards how do you store it and how long will it last if not using all within the first week? Thank you for sharing.
@SimplyAquaticCT
@SimplyAquaticCT Күн бұрын
1. Yes 2. I use about 4-5ml per 60 liters, any more will result in green water 3. No I have not, but I do still add it in my green water tank to keep it going from time to time. 4. It'll be ready as soon as it starts producing the co2 bubbles! - I store it in the same dark warm place and it'll last about a week or two before it stops producing gas and that's when I stop using it.

So this actually doesn't work, I had read on a forum that it was better to let it run under a bit of pressure and degas than to have one of the airlocks because of a certain complication, but to be honest I never did test it, so it will be interesting to see!
