I loved him, then felt shocked and betrayed, then found out all the mental trauma he went through because of his mom, and I loved him again cause I always felt like if he had the chance, he could have been mentally healed and be his true self. :(

dude same. The funny thing was when I was reading and Cal took them with his father I stopped and the the thing is I told my cousin the book I was reading and she began searching everything so she knew Maven was going to betray Mare, and when I went to her and told her how mad I am because Cal didn't choose Mare and joked that I wouldn't be surprised if Maven betrayed her too and I would cry, well I indeed was surprised and I did cried felt betrayed. The funny thing is how Many Times We Were told to be careful that he is the son of Elara and I should have seen it coming because the author kept mentioning it but Dang Maven really is good at manipulation.
