i have staingate on my 2016 mbp, initially it were just some spots but it annoyed me so I dicided to try this fix. I suspect Apple made the coating on the 2016 more durable. 1st of all I bought it new in 2016 and only now it started showing staingate, second I am now in 2 hours working with Listerine and a microfiber cloth and I'd say its only done for maybe 40%, I will Finnish it later since my listerine finished. plan on upgrading to the new 16' mbp when the M4 releases. But anyway maybe helpful info for other owners of a after 2015 mbp with this problem that face this issue.

Thanks so much for this video. I just used the Armour Etch on my 2015 MacBook Pro - worked like a dream exactly as shown

I used listerine and it removed it all in 30 minutes. Good on ya for your post.

Just curious but can you use an automotive paint ceramic coating to treat the screen glass once its been fully cleaned of tge factory coating?

Nope. Display is too sensitive for a ceramic paint coating.

Used Microbac Tissues and cleaned a 15" MBP 2015 Screen in 10 minutes completely clear. Nothing else was needed.

I use Colgate mouthwash and removed it in 10min …effortless.

I used screen cleaner and it also works wonders. Honestly, when you consider the price paid for these things, Staingate shouldn't have happened.

Baby wipes are the clear winner. Took less than 10 minutes to remove the whole coating. My baby wipes contains: Aqua, Glycerin, Gluconolactone, Potassium, Sorbate, Sodium Cocoampoacetate, Allantoin, Sodium Benzzoate, Pathenol, Dimethicone, Calcium Gluconate, Citric Acid.

I think there are different types of this coating. I tried every baby wipe and they didn't work.
