Thanks for the video, I’m just getting into filming and looking to find the right camera gear and laptop to get started this cleared up a lot. Any recommendations on a laptop and editing software? Definitely just got a new subscriber!

Glad you found it helpful! I would recommend a Mac. As far as editing software goes, it really comes down to personal preference. I personally use premier pro but I know a lot of people are starting to use davinci resolve. If you are new to editing, there is nothing wrong with getting started in something simple like iMovie. It’s really just what works best for you!

Also i had a question on the g7x. Does it do good in low light? I’m thinking about going with the cheaper camcorder and buy a better camera that can do good in low light or should i spend more on a better one and which one would that be

I either have the comica wireless mic or a Rhode shotgun mic on my main camera. Any microphone will work, just depends on what works best for you in your situation

Great video. With that first camera and the muddy arm, when you did the zoom it seemed so easy. Does the arm allow you to zoom or were you doing that on the camera? Getting my first set up, so new to this. Sorry if that seems ridiculous

Dude. That was a beautiful video. I wish more people could see it. As a Christian (and church worker) and hunter, I loved the devotion at the end. Such a great analogy. It really put things into perspective and made perfect sense. I’m all the way in the Missouri, but dang I’d love to try and partner up someday and look into a hunter’s ministry because that could be powerful for sure! Great job man

Well Done !! best video I have seen on self filming set ups!! so it seems like filming with a mirrorless and having to manually zoom in and out might be a problem when it comes down to little movement once you spot a target animal. thanks for the helpful info and keep up the excellent work!!! 👍

R6 footage is far superior! But yes it’s a bit harder to film with…but it’s totally worth it.

If you are not self filming would you still buy the camcorder in the $7000 budget ? Or just stick with the mirrorless

I personally would go with the mirrorless because they are more versatile, giving you the option to also get really professional grade pictures as well as high quality video
