Thank you Vlad! This is the best illustration of how to effectively use water with watercolors! I'm primarily an oil painter and I struggle with my watercolors being overworked and too heavy. Now I start with this exercise before every painting to gauge the transparency of my washes, and my paintings are starting to have a better sense of light that I so love in Vlad's work. Working up to finally taking a Master Class!

These lessons are gems! Please do one of you sketching the composition on watercolor paper on location. Is it basically same as the value study sketch ( prior to shading)?

Music too loud, Vlad, as it obscures the message. I’ll be with you on zoom Black Friday.

I love sword brushes and use them regularly-in several orientations. Unfortunately due to the camera angle there is no way to see how you are orienting the sword and which edge you are painting with.
