In this video you can see the old style wig wag railroad crossing signals. Things have sure changed a lot over the years.

2:38 - Aqueduct City - I wonder how many people lost money speculating on that amazing land deal. Nothing ever came of it. Today, the land is still just sitting there.

San Fernando was my first home after being born in the Queen of Angels hospital in L.A.! Early 1939! It was amidst olive orchards with no nieghbors in sight! only olive trees and horse corrals. Wonderful early memories! Country living at the best! Just before the start of world war two!! Wish I could turn back the clock and start over!

Very atmospheric and noir-ish! One can imagine Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck plotting murderous shenanigans in one of those shady roadside bars or diners!

It would of been nice to know what city they were driving through and the streets so we could compare it with todays streets. The SFV was so nice and clean back in the day. We moved to North Hollywood from Santa Monica back in I think 1966. There wasn’t as many people back then as their is now. The SFV is WAY over populated.

I was in Northridge in '94. Crazy times that was! A lot of folks left. I can never leave. This is my home. I have ancestors buried all over this city. It's too expensive everywhere now. Things are just too out of balance. I hope and pray I will always have a roof over my head. So far so good. Love this state!

I love those old cars, but when I see them all I can think about is breather tubes hanging down, carburetors, points and condenser ignition, and so very maintenance intensive.

What a contrast to other videos like this from 1955. Seeing this it is easy to imagine all the cars being electric in 20 years. Enough time goes by and automobiles change from one form to another.
