Chuck: "We were all very enthused to go into the recording studio and put out an excellent album. That is exactly what we achieved. We set our goals.. Everyone was unified. It all worked. It all blended together. Everyone was in a positive spirit."

deyoung heard this on a tommy cassette. shaw did not think it was a styx song and deyoung said yes it is. young did not want to record it and did not play or sing the record.

@ILikeStyx Жыл бұрын
The rest of the album is just studio tracks. They re-released the album in Japan on CD in 2021

Appreciate the upload, always enjoyed this cut , even tho it's not as natural as the original version by Styx. Jean Nichol is a singer from Quebec, more akin to a Bobby Vinton or a Paul Anka, but he liked to flirt with soft rock on occasion He also did a French version of the Eagles "In the long run" (A la longue) on this same label
I bought this record in high school and this song STILL cracks me up.

It's interesting that what Shaw says he admires about DeYoung and has better acceptance for the differences in their musical styles he now cites as reasons they can no longer work together.

Interesting to hear this. The drums are slightly different (very different in the bridge) and we also get more background vocals in parts. It is a different lead, though Glen sings incredibly similarly to the Styx recording. Beyond those few things, it's the same recording.

Too bad Dennis and Tommy had so much trouble together, because they're voices blend so well. A shame.

I know just by watching the CITA video that they actually used a music backtrack instead of actually playing. But if I were hearing this for the first time I would think they did a great job playing this live. I can hear my 13-14 year old mind thinking "Wow, the live versions sounds like the studio versions other than JY's vocals". Thanks for sharing, have always wanted to hear the flip side of Music Time.
