This was the most detailed video for Ahsoka's costume that I have come across. Thank you for taking the time. Also, is there a video going in detail of the beads on the belt. So I may get the order of the beading please.

I have owned a Bernina Activa 220 sewing machine for many years, and I have never been able to figure out why it would always grab my bobbin thread when I started a seam and make a huge knot. I actually hated the machine. After watching your instruction on how to correctly thread the machine, I have sewed today for the first time ever without bunching of the bobbin thread. Thank you!!

Yes, the bobbin should be inserted clockwise, I’ve owned a number of Bernina’s for 20 years they are all the same for bobbin direction

thank you -- I just received a used machine like yours and love it, now I know a bit more about it!!!

Why didn't you use the needle threader? It works
@christopherh42387 ай бұрын
Per the manual, you installed the bobbin incorrectly into the casing. It should be clockwise. Thanks for the nice video!

Hey this is awesome! Just wondering where did you get the fabric for the poncho/cloack? That would be really helpful. Ty!!!

I had a bag of popsicle sticks from Dollar Tree in the craft section. So I just glued 2 sticks together, also 3 sticks, for a little thicker seam. Probably cost me a nickle to do the same thing as a $10 plastic one.

I did not know there was such a tool available, wow. I hemmed a pair of jeans today and had a heck of a time. I just hand cranked the needle through all that very slowly. I love the post-it note idea, I have more jeans to hem and I'm going to use my post-it notes to do them with. Thank you so much for this information and showing us how to do it!!!

This is making my life a lot easier. I did have difficulty following your finger movements while you face your audience. My brain had difficulty transferring movements of your right hand to my right hand. Perhaps you could do a video with your body facing the same way as your audience. Thank you so much for this video.

I love these videos - thank you so much for sharing. And as a costume maker myself, I totally appreciate how much hard work and love has gone into this project! I’m about to embark on making four 18th century costumes so wish me luck! 😇

I am having a DAY trying to figure out how to make this cloak. I just can't seem to do it. Would you happen to be able to lay out a paper sketch of what the pattern pieces ought to (generally) look like?

I’m making this pattern but my fabric is quite sheer. I was going to add a lining but was wondering how that would work with the pleats? Do I make the outer layer with the pleats and then add the lining in? or attach the lining to the outer piece first and pleat through both layers?

Can you provide any more details on the cloak part? Trying to get one made for my niece for her Halloween costume
@Paisleyandglue2 жыл бұрын
It’s basically just an elongated poncho shape cut down the middle front with an oversized hood!
@selfdisplaced2 жыл бұрын
Ah, thanks. I’ll look into some poncho ideas. Was using just a cloak one diy video. And it came out decent enough. But want to try again with a different material and with what I’ve learned from first try. Great job on yours and has helped. What material did you use for the cloak? I just used a random gray blanket found at Walmart, guess it’s some sort of fleece/jersey material.

oh good, I can get it from Aussie sellers, awesome. How close to you advise in going to the edges of your fabric?
@Paisleyandglue2 жыл бұрын
I think leaving a decent border of an inch or two is a good idea so you have plenty of space to finagle the smocking into whatever you’re making and still have seam allowance. Usually the smocking will make the edges of the fabric uneven so having some excess makes sure you don’t lose any of your smocking when you go to incorporate it into your project!
@susanwood14452 жыл бұрын
So excited. Already got this on pre order. Knew English smocking but keen to try American smocking. Already bought the stencils. So useful. I couldn't find anything to mark out my smocking grid. These stencils are wonderful. The sewing world has needed this even if you don't cos play they work so well in day to day clothes. Thank you.

Perfect! Hope you love the full book as well! Happy smocking!
