It's a shame Reskit did not put the set out in 1/32 scale. There are a ton of the Trumpeter Corsair II's sitting out there that need the correction parts badly ! They said they were working on it when I asked them . Maybe something with Trumpeter and copyrights ? The price would be out the window in 1/32 scale. Thanks for the review ! Good luck on the build.

I first built this kit in 1959 when I was 9 years old. Can still remember the day I bought it. It originally came out as the A model with the short rotor mast. Came with a litter and two medics. This kit was better than the Aurora kit that came out a little later because the Aurora kit nose was miss shaped. I have since built dozens of these kits for airport displays and museums. The mold has been shot so many times, I don;t think it is quit 1/48 scale any more. I always thought that the crew figures were the best Vietnam era pilots out there. They can be used in other Vietnam era non fighter type aircraft. I used to fly the O-1 Bird Dog, and would use these pilot figures when building Bird Dog models because these were some of the few figures that did not have oxygen masks attached. It was the best we had at the time, and can still be built into a nice model.

Thanks very much for sharing your memories of this kit. Many of us have had wonderful experiences with it and I hope to have that same feeling again. The molds are really starting to show their age and hopefully Revell can refurbish them to keep the old kit alive. Cheers!

Hi Fuzzy, thank you for this review! Highly appreciated! I was tempted to buy this set a few times, but was hesitating due to the price tag of 79€ here in Germany... Now you "lured me into the trap"... 😂 Have their set for the ICM 1/48 OV-10D. It's a piece of art and the quality is just amazing. I will soon start to build it (along with a lot of other after market bits I collected over the months). It's gonna be a big project, but I know it will be satisfying. I have already built a few kits featuring Reskit resin engines, weapons, figures, wheels etc. The details were always great (ok, not on the wheel sets to be honest...). They require a bit of rework to fit the models but the results are well worth it. I'm expecting the 3D sets to fit better, for the tolerances are not that high on 3D compared to cast resin. I wish you lots of fun with this A-7D bits! Keep the great work coming!

Thanks. I hope you enjoy the OV-10 project. That's one aircraft that I haven't built since I was a kid but love it none the less. The Reskit sets for that look amazing and I see they are going to release the cargo bay detail set for it too! Have fun!

Hi Fuzzys What saws do you use for this type of surgery and to cut the parts out of the resin?
@fuzzysghostmodels9840
@fuzzysghostmodels9840 12 күн бұрын
I use nippers for the small 3D pieces and then a razor saw made for scale railroading for the more traditional resin blocks. I hope that helps.

some of this 3-d stuff..... how easy to get the waves, lines out?
@fuzzysghostmodels9840
@fuzzysghostmodels9840 12 күн бұрын
If the lines are fine enough, you don't see them after the parts are painted. Otherwise they have to be sanded, which kind of defeats the purpose. These sets won't show any lines after painting.

You really threw me when you pulled out those rubber parts. 😁 I built this kit back in the early '80s, but I preferred the 1/32 scale version. I actually did a dual build of two kits from different eras on my channel just to see the differences. Comparing the older kit to the newer release was interesting. Just subscribed to your channel, so I'm looking forward to seeing this one built. Have a great week. -David
