On reverb.com, these go for several hundred bucks, but I got mine for 30 bucks from someone who had it lying in his attic. But to me, it's priceless. I use its organ sounds a ton, it's the only keyboard that has a permanent space in my synth rack

A touching sentimental declaration. Kinda gay tho.. The MicroKorg is a Male Synthesizers. To each his/her/it's own ❤

We could start some very biological discussion... For example, all of the MicroKorg's connectors are female... But maybe it identifies as male. I don't care. Gender has unfortunately become too much of a political topic, so I rather stay out of it. My love is universal. Call me Bi-musical

The found a roland alfa juno in a pawn shop in 1993 for $100 with some bad keys that i fixed , it has been a go to ever since. Great for tech base , lead and i have never listen to filters like it , the othe one is the waldorf pulse , the front 242 pulse album was named after it

Great outro song! you should release it :) I can't seem to find any pictures of the back of this keyboard. Could you please tell me what kind of I/O it has? I guess it was too early for midi, right? xD
@SynthsandSounds
@SynthsandSounds Ай бұрын
it has a big headphone jack out and stereo cinch out as far as I remember. If I remember correctly there's no input and definitely there is no MIDI in/out. MIDI is really rare to find on 80s keyboards for the non-professional market. The Casio CT-6000 is the only non-synthesizer keyboard from the early MIDI era that I can think of right now. I am quite sure the PS-25 and its brothers even pre-date the introduction of MIDI. Really glad You liked the song!

I think the main reason these companies faded was that their instruments needed constant repair & maintenance. My Crumar trilogy spent more time on the repair bench than my home..

Ahhhh I had one of these, weighed an absolute tonne but built like a tank. Had the memory upgrade but eventually the screen faded and became too difficult to use. Loved the filter but its use become minimal so I sold it for about £50 🤦🏻‍♂️

I read about so many regrets in my comments... On my unit, the Tape deck broke, but i'm gonna upgrade it with a USB drive one day instead of selling it, that's what I've learned from here! It really weighs a ton... Heaviest Casio gear by miles!

I've owned one of these since 1993 and always enjoyed working with it when I was making my own music. What I never understood was how to utilize it with MIDI. How about a demonstration of that?

Hi. I'm an italian lucky owner of an ELKA EH105. It was bought by my father in 1988. I had no documentation. Finally, serching on internet, I found on EBay some documentation, including the Electronic diagrams (very intereting !!) and the operating instructions. Unfortunately for me, the instructions are in German language (no problem, I can translate), but I wonder why I didn't found it in italian language... Anway it works fine and now I can use it in all it's functions.

There was a local Jazz guy, forget his name, but he used to swear by these things. In the right hands these can be *super* funky. Casio made great little keyboards before they switched to that godawful signed 8bit PCM stuff. A friend of mine in the 90s used one of these for a low-fi triphop act (Think Portishead or Massive attack, but played on a Casio and Korg drum machine with a singer who sung like an angel) , and it actually sounded amazing

No my friend, the JX-8P is the winners synth! What's not to like? It has features even it's big older brother the Jupiter 8 doesn't have. Junos were also seen as lesser for Manny years because of the use of DCOs, now people say: it's like a Jupiter because it has the same filter chip! But the JX-8P uses the same filter chip as the Super Jupiter rack synth (the Rev. 5) which now sells for mega-bucks. The JX in my opinion is closer to the Jupiters in terms of design and sound, and in fact in some ways is better. If Roland have release the JX-8P with 8 note polyphony, split mode, an arpegiator/sequencer, built in sliders, better quality buttons and a slop mode for the dcos, this things would've been perfect.

17:13 Why don't you just connect a battery with a diode in parallel with the capacitor, with the diode then connected in series with the battery? This should prevent the current from flowing back into the battery. And you can also replace the old capacitor with a new one.

My father bought a Yamaha PSR-36 in December 1988 for a price of 990 DM 14 % VAT included. According to historical currency rates, that was $556.87 on that day. Was the Casio HT-3000 in the same price range?
