There's FAR better options that are literally household items that can be used. There's a couple guys that work at our shop that SWEAR by wd40. To this day I can't either of them to go shooting one weekend... Also, best firearms lubricant ever made = *Spec76* by Son's of liberty Gunworks. It's an improved formula that evolved from sprinco machine gunners lube.

😂😂..it was also used to prevent corrosion on the Atlas Missile... WD 40 was tested at ROF...UK..it doesn't harm , plastic, metal, safe on rubber and does have lubricating properties. Thought it's low viscosity and lubricity it is very good as a solvent on carbon, powder residue and crub . Great cleaner . Simply lubricant with another product. All these wonderful lubricants.... synthetic sowing machine oil is as good as it gets....

Why cut for bolt? About same size as magazine, so it could just press into the foam when it's laid in and closed up.

Don't use WD 40 in your firearms and leave it there. Remove it with a cleaning solvent and then oil. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWOWZoOrqc2to7c&ab_channel=Brownells%2CInc.

Whenever I look up a video about correcting extreme revolver cylinder gap it's ALWAYS about when it's too narrow, which is an easy fix with a file if you're careful. I have several revolvers and none of them have too little of a gap, the couple that I own that have an extreme cylinder gap have too large of a gap and you can't correct it without some substantial gunsmithing by slightly cutting down the entire barrel to screw it in just a little bit further. I wish I had the problem with a cylinder gap that is too tight, such an easy fix since you can't add material to a revolver's forcing cone.

Froglube is a great product. I like to add a comment that when you applied this lube as directed, it will turn wet after firing a couple shots due to heat thus you need not to add anything before the range. You only need to wipe the weapon just to get the dirtiness off... so simple and easy.

I know where he's coming from. Tried the gun business long ago. Got screwed in all directions and the stress caused a sevear case of jaundice and i ended up being sick for the greater part of a year and nearly died from it. I still do a few things in the gun industry but only on a very small individual scale and am happy to stay small scale. It's an extremely cut throat industry. You can not appreciate how cut throat it is until you experience it for yourself. Guys like him get caught in the middle and end up taking the bulk of punishment. I can almost guarantee you that it wasn't failure but the stress that pushed him over the edge. The saddest part to me is that he was basically tortured to death and only saw missery and suffering for the last part of his life. Poor fellow.

I still think WD-40 is great for cleaning guns and blasting out carbon and gunk from actions. For bores I clean with original Hoppes #9. For lube and corrosion protection I use Rem oil. This has been working for me for decades. I hope you are making plenty of money from those who can't get the gunk out of their guns.

Older video but good information other than the cracks about Rock Island or cheating 1911s cheap 1911s have come a long ways including Rock Island. But the video is good. One thing to note bushings are softer metal than the frame so there is a chance that you could strip the The bushing and not the frame. But if that happens, you're still going to have to take it to a gunsmith and have them clean out the threads. Or you could buy a special tap clean out the threads. They're not overly expensive but they're not cheap. And if you don't know how to do use them, take it to a gunsmith but overall people I would be very careful of changing out grips on the 1911 not that it can't be done, but if they're not staked in or loctite it in, they can come loose. Fairly easy. The grip bushings uncover loose.
