I truly respect the accuracy. Jarrod’s signature right-hand roll on the hi-hat during the verses. You really have to watch Jarrod with Taproot live to appreciate this. I saw him utilize it during the verses and at the end of the song, Dragged Down, opening for Soulfly in 2001 and was blown away by the slick subtlety. Other drummers try to cheat it using two hands, but it just looks/sounds cheesy. You nailed this and all your other covers
@TheMichaelJadeDrumChannel2 ай бұрын
Bro THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! This comment just made my whole month! I truly do try to be faithful to the original recording of every cover I do, and you're probably the only person to notice the accents on the hi-hat! I'm truly floored and honored you took the time to show me some love. thank you again for the kind words, and really just reminding me I don't totally suck ass at playing. Cheers!!

@@TheMichaelJadeDrumChannelI think it was the bassist after Dirk from Incubus talking about fans who go to concerts. There’s the casual listener. There’s a small percentage of musicians that appreciate the musicianship and then within that group, there’s an even smaller percentage of them that nitpick everything. We might be in that category lmao No offense to Meytal or Dean Minerva, but there’s people on KZbin like described above, that look for more than just a cover. This isn’t just a cover. You were doing things Jarrod does live! KZbin has a lot of talent, but there’s also a lot of middle of the road covers even with nice production, hot girl musician, etc etc. There’s your approach which is closely accurate. Kye Smith is another one that does something similar. He did a Green Day comp with the first album songs played open handed, like their OG drummer, John and then switched to Tre’s style for his songs. Cobus and C00p3r do their own improved/unique interpretations which is also better than the average video. I am clearly not a fan of anything in between, middle of the road covers. Excellent job again on the accuracy!
