No one has falsified the history. It was the end of the Byzantine Empire in 1453 (also of Middle Ages) and its replacement by the Ottomans, as was the end of the WW1 also the end of the Ottomans. For anyone possessing any idea about the Near East and Black Sea, referring to İSTANBUL as Konstantinopolis is automatically associated with "Megali Idea & Enosis" - a dream that was never realized and can never be realized...
