This is an extremely modernized version and does NOT hold true to the book. One of my favorite parts is the ending statement which was very disappointingly not included in this transcript. If the original version of this story was read, it should have taken roughly 24+ hours to read.

Imagine what John Steinbeck would say if he heard fake, inhuman, artificial voices reading his carefully chosen words, mispronouncing his hard work! There are multitudes of people who would gladly read the book here for free if that is the excuse for using phony voices.
