I’ve heard that ShadowCast doesn’t support audio, which is a bit of a bummer for me. I’d love to be able to hear the audio through AppleVision Pro as well. I’ve tried MirrorPlay, and it works great, but it’s not 4K.

Actually, I just tried this on my ROG Ally X using my iPad Pro as a screen, and sound was coming through the iPad. Then I did a second test from my Series X to my iPad and got the same results using the Shadow Cast 2 Pro. I think they may have updated the app or something because I remember this not working. Now I do remember that when this video was made, I was using Vision OS 1, and I am now on OS 2, and sound comes through the headset on just about everything. So thats another possibility

Hey there! Great breakdown. I have preordered the Visor by immersed but who knows when it will ship. I’m considering buying an AVP. What’s holding me back is I’m not certain how the quality of life is when working in applications that have a lot of UI /GUI intricacies that need to be worked with. I work mostly in Houdini, Cinema 4D and occasionally in Nuke / After effects. I currently use 3 physical monitors but it would be nice to break free of my desk and work in other places when I want. I see your using AE which can requires some precision use of the display. How’s it working in those types of apps long over longer periods of time ( 6hrs or more )? Thank you!
@RyanPeterson-50533 ай бұрын
I preordered the visor as well, and I don't think we are seeing that any before October, as they are not even showing live hands-on demos until September. As far as working with VisionPro, it is really nice to work in. I have used it for several 8-hour stents and not had an issue. Now I do take it off when I leave my desk, so that helps with any of the weight issues. I also have that second strap, which is really helpful as well! I have used it in editing, coding, and other random tasks with no issues. For editing, its just like working on my 4K monitor connected to my Macbook Pro, but I can make it a lot bigger! If you are looking to be more mobile, I would recommend it for sure. We travel a lot for our video production shoots that we do, and I take the VisionPro with me every time. Immersed has some delays every now and then, "which can cause issues when editing," but that's just network problems and not being able to have a direct connection. I will say that if you havent checked out the new Vision OS 2.0 update. I would highly recommend checking it out. I think that will really help with any quality issues that are currently there or caused by network problems. Also, you will be getting two new view modes from the Mac: Wide-Mode, which I think is like having two 4K monitors side by side and Ultra-Wide, which is a 180-degree screen straight from the Mac. So if your used to using multiple monitors, this will be awesome. Overall, I have been really happy with the VisionPro, and it only seems to be getting better. The only real downside is the weight, but the duel headbands really helps out with that. I hope this helps :)

Ok purchased the ShadowCast Pro 2. I didn’t understand I had to have screen capture running. So I downloaded OBD2. I got it working but the colors are very washed out. I tried changing settings on OBD2 but didn’t seem to affect anything. I’m using the Preview screen to get it full screen. Do you or anyone else know how to get better colors so they aren’t so washed out? I may very well be setting this up wrong. Some step by step instructions would be good. What capture software are you using in this video? I’m using my MacBook Pro M1. Thanks!
@RyanPeterson-50533 ай бұрын
So I used the Genki Arcade app. It is going to give you the cleanest picture. I am not sure what OBD2 is, unless you meant OBS. If you did, I would recommend that. Then you could capture the window for Genki Arcade and stream that. Now, if your not streaming, just stick with the Genki app. Steps So Device to Shadow cast 2 Pro HDMI in USBC/Thunderbolt cable to Macbook Open Genki app and you should be good to go. If you are running OBS, I would google how to capture an application from OBS on a MacBook Pro. Its pretty straight-forward, but you will have to set up the sources. Which it should say if you click the + button in that tab MacOS capture screen. Or something like that. Anyway, I hope this helps. Also, the screen capture you were seeing in this video was coming from the Vision Pro
