That high street seems to have quite a bit of traffic with lots of big trucks.

Document d'une parfaite maîtrise, c'est un prix d'excellence qui devrait vous être attribué. Un grand merci de la part de tous.10/10, hélas nous ne pouvons faire plus et c'est bien dommage.

Winnie’s cafe still there! The buildings still remain the same (apart from the co-op development) but of course over time the leases change on the shops. Didn’t see Dolphin chippy!

Greetings from Vancouver Canada. I grew up in Groombridge 1946 - 1964 and attended Primary school there, after passing my 11+ I went to East Grinstead Grammar and took the train from Groombridge station on a daily basis. I later took the train on my daily commute from there to London where I worked for a Lloyds broker. I took my Canadian girlfriend to Groombridge Place which she found quite impressive as few Canadian home boast a moat but when I showed her Groombridge lake she was much amused and said that Canadians would call that a puddle. Having seen the Great Lakes of Canada I later understood her disdain. Many thanks WTT for the nostalgia.

yeah, I just noticed the date stamp here; - 20th of March and still cloudy and wet... last year, it rained way too much ...this year, it has already had its limit... - we urgently need the sun out this year for an early start to a very very long summer... - my garden will smell fabulous!

Nice and pretty, looks very quiet though. Very few people on the streets.

Did you know? Harefield tackle shop was once named Philips Grocers many moons ago. The comedy show the Goodies used Harefield for location shooting including the Fisheries and the green, Tim Brooke Taylor is seen going down the slide which was there in the 70's. There was a shooting range at the end of Summerhouse Lane until the early 90's which was a Home Guard training ground during WW2. The path which joins Northwood Road was called the Barley Path, the path behind the school leading to Merle Avenue was known as the Strollies and the path at the end of Northwood Road on the bend was known as the Spinney. Eric Morcombe gently jogged around Harefield in 1984 when recovering from a heart attack.
