We need a rematch. Stroud vs Hutchinson, and there's only one way that happens this year. 💍 🏆

The throw made at 7:53 is one of the most impressive throws ive ever seen. The arm strength with that body position and throwing angle is elite. Locating and setting up the WR with anticipation also elite.

I don’t see why they are calling him a generational talent. He looks like Russell Wilson to me which is a decent level NFL QB.
@rhdtv20027 ай бұрын
RW is a hall of famed. He is above decent and very accurate and has had some killer instincts. He is more of an Aaron Rodgers type. Look at ARod highlights - 2020 is a good one. They move and throw allot alike.
@dylankrejci99657 ай бұрын
I found videos for every one of Maye's starts, and I'm systematically going through each one. My first pass is just a general gut check, without going too in depth about things. Through these first two games I am really, really impressed. He's got great touch and accuracy on his passes, and I love that he doesn't seem afraid to throw when pressure is coming at him, or when the receiver is in reasonably tight coverage. So many supposed top players have highlights that are just them throwing to wide open guys, which is cool and all but that rarely happens in the NFL. He's very poised and confident, and his game seems like it would transfer very well to the NFL. The only concerns I've noticed so far are that sometimes he misses completely, and some of those plays end up almost costing them with a turnover. His footwork in the dropback also seems pretty slow (but tbh I don't really pay attention to this too much in general, so I might be being too harsh). At the end of the day, super impressed especially considering this is just his second start.

He doesn’t seem to step up in the pocket enough, rather continuing to backpedal, followed by rolling out. NFL opposing defense will play him outside the hashes.

He looks legit and possesses a lot of skills as well as being an underrated rusher. It's just hard to see that when he's constantly pressured and his receivers drop the ball frequently at 3:37 and 6:47 .Though that throw at 5:51 was nice and he has more of a similar style to Caleb Williams than people think.

1:41 is when Caleb Williams pulled his hamstring in this game at 17-3 in favor of USC. He apparently popped his hamstring and had a huge gash on his throwing hand. Played the rest of the game one 1 leg. No one should ever question this kid's heart.

Feet in the pocket are all wrong, stares down receivers, reaches the ball behind him when he throws. So he’s going to be susceptible to pressure since he needs an extra step or two to get his feet under him, then he’ll either get intercepted when the defense jumps his routes, or he’ll have the ball knocked away by an edge rusher. He has a shot if he falls in the draft to a team with solid offensive line play and can sit him for a year or two while he gets coached up. To me he’s a 4-5th rounder, backup with low end starter potential.

@spacezoo50799 ай бұрын
One of the few who thought he'd be a bust and now that he more or less is you can still see it here. 3 (or 4) big failings. The first two Stroud has, which is why he was my QB1 and I called Young Manziel 2.0 1. Has 0 anticipation. This is a little hidden by his lightning fast throwing motion. He needs to see his receiver open. He can't throw his receivers open and needs a split second to confirm they're open before he throws it. 2. Loses the play in his head when things break down. He's just panic scrambling. He has no plan. This is masked at the college level because once the play has broken and he sees a guy wide open he can make a lightning quick pass 3. He might get away with his deficiencies with elite scrambling ability like Lamar or Kyler, but he doesn't have that. He looks quicker than he is because of his small body. He also has good not great arm strength. I.e. he doesn't have elite bail out tools. These are pretty much the same issues Manziel had, except Manziel was a superior scrambler.
@joshj70129 ай бұрын
You can see him get away with a lot of stuff in this game that he can’t get away with in the NFL. His line bought him time, but he was slow to process and often threw behind receivers or checked down

He doesn’t see the field clearly and makes wrong decisions. His last interception should’ve gone to the drag route coming from the left to the right side as opposed to thinking that with an inside post the safety was going to follow and leave the TE wide open down the side line. The safety dropped back and understood and didn’t bite on the post and just watched the eyes of Caleb Williams and I think Caleb Williams thought the safety was going to go the post but the safety played it right. He’ll probably have the second best improvisational skills in the NFL since Aaron Rodgers is old but from the pocket he isn’t as refined yet.
@knightdance83778 ай бұрын
He was really banged up quite a lot in this game. He played the last 3 quarters of this game with a torn hamstring and a gashed out hand. I've seen all his games from 2021 up until this point. He's as brilliant out of the pocket as he is in it. There's actually nothing he doesn't do "well"
