May I ask you, where do you park your bike in NYC? Not the actual location! What I mean is, I can’t imagine you would trust leaving it out in the streets. I just got a bike and I’m trying my damndest to figure out where to leave it. I don’t want to leave it on the street but I can’t really find a parking garage that allows motorcycles park in them.

Awesome that you've got both bikes. I find that switching between multiple bikes (especially of different types) really makes me appreciate each bike that much more. Congrats!

Whats your height or inseam ? Would like ro know as I plan to pick an 8R soon and concerned about flat footing it. I flat foot my Ninja 500 presently

No idea about inseam. I'm 5' 7''. I'd say best way is to go sit on one! Will give you a real idea of how you fare. Shouldn't be too different than the Ninja though.

Wow I live upstate Orange County to be more exact. Of coarse I heard of a lot of these roads you rode on but how you put it all together. Amazing. I have ridden down the west side hwy and we made a left I forgot which street then over to I believe 5th or 6th ave and headed north to time square then back to the west side hwy headed north on home.

I assume the 1250 is a blast to ride, but this is certainly enough for me. It's really peppy, and keeps on giving. I'll hit 8k, and it pulls no problem. Would love to take the 101 out and see how it compares.

Great video. I have an XSR700 and have been eyeing this as my next bike. Did you have any other bikes before this?
@TheRiceRocketeer
@TheRiceRocketeer 10 күн бұрын
I've had a bunch. BMW g310r, Indian FTR, MT07, 2020 STR, Indian Scout (now). It's a pleasant follow up to anything. Super polished and elegant. Will make the XSR feel rough in comparison. You could argue less character, but it makes up for it with it's versatility.
@ChaseLancaster
@ChaseLancaster 10 күн бұрын
@@TheRiceRocketeer Wow that’s a cool bunch. Yeah I was wondering if it was enough of an upgrade from the CP2 engine. I did test ride one and it felt like less torque but I was also focusing on just riding it smooth since it was a dealer bike.
@TheRiceRocketeer
@TheRiceRocketeer 3 күн бұрын
@@ChaseLancaster If what you are looking for is brut power, you won't feel it until the upper end. But it delivers for sure. I think it's not only enough of an upgrade, but its a "classy" one as well.

Good review. It looks like your suspension is a tad firm, saw you getting bumped out of the seat at one point. The R has a softer set up, and if you only notice the power difference at the top end, is it worth the extra $?

I've been thinking of buying a 765rs or a gen4 mt09, both are almost the same price (in Costa Rica) I'll be using the bike as an daily driver and the roads here are not that good, because of that I'm leaning towards the mt a bit more because of the softer suspension, but the triumph has a 3 year warranty without a limit of miles, it will be aswell my 1st ever big bike, im coming from a 450, I've heard that if i start in the 765rs I'll get spoiled with the nicer suspensión and nicer breaks that i won't even use to their 60% capability The Mt what i don't like is the prices is listed at, the same or almost the same as the steet triple which is a better bike all around, just concerned about reability for being a daily driver doing around 13k miles a year (or more)
@TheRiceRocketeer
@TheRiceRocketeer 14 күн бұрын
I would go MT for the sole reason that a daily bike should be reliable and sturdy. I have had zero problems with my Triumph, but cannot argue that Yamaha (or any of the big 4) can basically run on corn oil and be good to go. The STRS is a really a track bike, and as you said, has premium parts. It's a bit overkill for a daily, but could certainly do the job. Going Yamaha will mean that you can service it practically anywhere, easily find parts, and not be worried thrashing it. Going Triumph will mean you have a more premium ride, but pay more for servicing it, and only be able to do so (for main services) at a Triumph dealership. Again, like you said, you can always move to a STRS later, and it will be a nice treat.

Holy shit I hate this place, look at the roads, and why is there so many bicycle riders now?? Can NYC residents not afford cars anymore. You picked the bike with probably the worst suspension for this kind of hell hole.
@TheRiceRocketeer
@TheRiceRocketeer 17 күн бұрын
Well, you wouldnt really want to drive around the city daily. Much easier on a motorcycle, and even easier on a bicycle. Also, lack of suspension isn’t all that much of a bother if you just learn how to be an active rider. But yes, rough backend on this one.

@TheRiceRocketeer
@TheRiceRocketeer 17 күн бұрын
Thank you! I have had a 50/50 experience. My FTR had never ending problems. This bike has been flawless so far. I would say that any of the big 4 are reliable as hell, no questions asked. You can basically run em on vegetable oil and youd be fine.

Longer trips I usually start at either sunrise or mid day. City riding, 2-4 or late late. I actually get pretty lucky with traffic. Which makes shooting videos on “terrible traffic” kinda difficult haha. 😆
