I appreciate the emotional delivery. ❤ Keep it up! Keep blending, keep refining the beginning and end of phrases... From someone that likes acapella music...but not a barbershop connoisseur. I'll check KZbin for more vids from you😊

The rest of the choruses are uploading as we speak, followed by half of Friday night, probably will take all night. None of these can be made public until permission is granted. As soon as I get the green light, public it goes!

Randy sang in a quartet with my husband, Peter Dennett, in Ontario. Both my husband and son passed away in 2021 and we held a memorial service in 2022 at Harmony Ranch. We played this song at the end of the service. It couldn't have been anything else. Both Peter and Andrew just loved Randy.

I think I've watched this video hundreds of times.... it's just so good. I'm going to be singing this song with a novice quartet in September. I can't wait!

Can you feel the love tonight, the ladies sing it in the key of F, the men sing it in B-flat. It was doable, we just had to sing down to a low F2

I think we scored 68% and just barely beat Denis LaFlamme's quartet to win Novice. We also tied for 9th place with Resolution, but finished 10th Saturday night.

Randy was the lead of my great Uncle's (Dick Baker) quartet called Act IV. I still have the pleasure of singing with my uncle in our barbershop chorus 'The Melody Men'. Dick is 77 years old, and is still kickin', he still sings bass as well, if not better than when they became the JAD Champs back in '87!

Hi all, I am a barbershop noob and am just learning how to sing it myself. Can someone clarify what voicing their arrangement is? Is it SATB or TLBB? Thanks so much
@nickymcgrath6 ай бұрын
Hi there! I'm Nicky (lead of this quartet). This is such a good question. We had a chat about it and aren't really sure ourselves, lol! We would still call it TLBB because that's the barbershop language regardless of gender (which I love), but you could call it SAAB or SATB. The arrangements we sing are a mixture of SSAA, TTBB, and SATB voicings (if we were to use traditional/non-barbershop voicing language) and we often make adjustments to work for us (like changing the key or revoicing sections). For these songs specifically, Day In Day was arranged for me by my partner for an SSAA quartet Shelby and I were in that sadly never got to perform it, so we revoiced it and pitched it down a tone for this group. For the arrangement of Their Hearts Were Full Of Spring, we pitched the SSAA version down a tone, but there is also a TTBB version (but I think both voicings are pretty similar or maybe even the same). Happy to chat more if you have other questions!
