I watch a lot of baby bear in a rescue somewhere which is great. But there is something special about seeing them in nature with mom

Thanks guys for the great review. I am the owner of the Shady Rest RV Park and i just saw this. We thank you for taking the time saying something about our park. As for some of your comments like the speed of the wifi. Yes you get 10mb/s free, if you need more i can give you up to 30 mb/s for an additional fee. And yes it would be nice to have a little store but it is only myself and my wife running the Park. I always wanted to get some shirts made but in 8 years no one has asked if we sold any. Thanks for the Review

Those comments were about minor stuff. The big thing is having a nice place to stay. Anything beyond that is icing on the cake.

What time of the year were you there?
@sparksonthegoАй бұрын
We were there around Sept 10th. It was one of our favorite places to visit on our trip north. I understand bears are hit and miss but we got lucky and saw bears several times. Unfortunately, the weather was bad and we didn't go to Salmon Glacier so I guess we have a good reason to go back.

Great video. What days were you there, and what were the temperatures ?
@sparksonthegoАй бұрын
Thanks! We were there May 23-26 and the temperatures ranged from mid 30s in the morning to around low to mid 60s during the day. We kept the jackets close but it was really pretty pleasant.

NO, we arent jerks, black bears are a fucking nuisance here, we have to be constantly on the look out to make sure our kids and pets are safe from these dumpsters on legs
@sparksonthegoАй бұрын
Okay. Well, 3 things: 1. I'm sorry the bears are such a nuisance to people that live in the area 2. I'm glad the driver of the truck didn't hit a bear 3. The baby bears are really cute Thanks for your comment

Thank you so much for showing this video! I really enjoyed working at this Worldmark on Las Vegas Boulevard when I lived in Las Vegas. It was a great place to work, but sadly my health hasn't been the greatest, so I moved to Kansas. I would go back and work there in a heartbeat! I started out cleaning the rooms there and later got promoted to a Prepper!! This is a awesome place for a great vacation!! I sure miss everyone!! God Bless!!

Can I ask, what the average miles per gallon you got in your truck? We are Planning a trip next year and want to get as prepared as possible. I Loved watching your adventure to Alaska. It gave us a lot of good ideas and fun places to go. Thanks

Thank you for your kind words! We loved our trip and hope our experience will help you plan yours. We drove a 2022 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi engine and it averaged 8.7 mpg (ouch!).

I have enjoyed your videos of your Canada/Alaska trip. I'm retiring in December so we are planning a trip next year. I'm trying to figure out if an early summer trip vs a late summer trip (like y'all) would be best for us. I'm starting to think that we may leave the first of July from Texas to miss the heat of July, August and September. We can be home during late spring and early summer to do a few things with the grandkids. Plus that's when we get most of our weather here in NorthTexas and we could be around to make sure everything was good then leave out as the weather turns hot and dry. We aren't strangers to AK as we have a daughter & son-in-law in Anchorage and have spent time there during the summers over the past 12 years. My daughter and I actually drove the AL-CAN Highway in late April/early May back in 2013 when she moved up the for a job...I was so envious! But just the thought of being able to stay extended periods in our 5th wheel and enjoy the area we are in is pretty exciting to me. And I love long road trips too! Thanks again for your insights on the trip!
@sparksonthego7 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! Next time, and I certainly hope there is a next time, we'd like to leave earlier in the year; maybe early to mid July. I think your plan sounds just about right. I retired almost 2 years ago so this has been in the planning for some time. It's nice to have the time available to do this kind of trip the right way. We also had been to Alaska multiple times but always flying and spending time in the Kenai Peninsula so it was good to be able to see other areas. Good luck on your future planning!

I currently live in Cabo San Lucas full time. However, it's too dang hot during the summer months. Just caught your video on Alpine, WY and have been trying to figure out a place in Idaho, Wyoming, west Montana. Retirement in Cabo is fantastic if you don't have a mortgage or an HOA. My house is completely solar powered so I can run AC 24/7/365.
