As an 11 and 12 year old kid in those years, Gary Puckett's hit were in constant rotation on the radio. I had several of them on 45s. My two favorites are This Girl is a Woman Now and Over You. Regardless of whether people like this style or not, you have to admit, he had an amazing voice with incredible range. You're exactly right, once the singer-songwriter movement took off in 1970-71, Garwasuccess was a thing of the past, and the hits disappeared. I enjoyed the video JSB. Cheers!!!

Thanks Rich, appreciate you watching! My Mum had the Woman Woman 45 and the Greatest Hits album, so I grew up hearing him and always liked his voice. Some of the deeper cuts (Home, The Beggar, etc) are truly great as well. Cheers, JSB.

I really like their first two albums and the song that really turned me on to them was 'Some might say' which had the great b-side - 'Acquiesce' and 'Talk tonight'. 'Whatever' is also a favourite with the b-side featuring 'Half the world away' which was used as the theme tune to the brilliant 'The Royle Family' sitcom. I think they are a good, solid but unremarkable band in terms of creativity and innovation and not as important as they believe themselves to be. P.S. How about a Ren reaction - starting with 'Hi Ren' the video which you don't need to censor as he doesn't block reactors (they are his people)😉

Thanks Cyclops, hope you are well! I've been looking for another sitcom theme tune to go against Roddy Frame's Small World (theme for Early Doors) and that now seems blindingly obvious! As for Ren...not sure what I can bring to a Hey Ren reaction that would stand alongside the one Shawn did...think I would most likely get to him next time he has a new track out...

The whole “Alchemy” concert was awesome, especially “Telegraph Road”. Also definitely worth seeing Live Wembley, “Tunnel of Love” and many many great songs. DS were simply fantastic live. For me, they were in the best line-up at that time, especially with Terry Williams on drums and Alan Clark on keys. Guy Fletcher was also great and of course John Ilsey on bass.

Wonderful live version. Communique was an outstanding album. I got to see them play on the On Every Street tour in 1992. It was on another level for a 16year old lad. I thought I'd never get to see them live but was blown away by their final album and tour. I also saw mark in 2010. I had seen him in 1996, 2001 and 2002 too. Always outstanding. I can confirm that Alan Clark was NOT with mark on any of his solo tours... But Guy Fletcher was on all of them. Great reaction Sir, to my favourite and inspirational artist of all time.

"Lay Lady, Lay" and "Knocking on Heaven's Door" were also big hits for Dylan. Maybe one of them was the other #2 hit for him. The Christian message of "Gotta Serve Somebody" got under John Lennon's skin. You can find the demo tape of a response song he never released called "Serve Yourself."

I worked with a Beatles fanatic when I was in my teens and he talked about Serve Yourself back then, but I've still never heard it, should rectify that! And very respectable guesses on the 'other #2', but is not those (which were #7 and #12 respectively, he says off the top of his head!). :D
