When I was a kid in the 80s my grandfather and my uncles would take us to the mill to fish for cat and swim. Last I heard some white folks with money purchased the whole damn road and shut it down to locals.

Wow, what memories this brings back. I was a salesman covering Eglin AFB for 20 years (am now retired). I usually stayed at the Breakers during the 2 to 3 days I was in that area. The view of the Gulf of Mexico was amazing. There was a small convience store on the property where I could rent videos and stock up on foods to munch on in the evenings. Great place to stay.
