It's a shame that they follow up on the exquisite experience that was Foundations limited with this slap on the face. And i agree, Alchemy is some bullshit that shouldn't exist. It's comprised of broken, fake cards. If you see an alchemy commander in brawl you can be sure it will not be a good game and you're not gonna win.

Magic has always been a bit of Universus Beyond if you know it’s history; some of the earliest sets had references to literature, sets based around cultures, and didn’t really get into a true story until a few years later. Hell one of the biggest story lines was about the Weatherlight and its crew fighting Phyrexia, and do you know what happened? They all died and decided to start on a new slate. They did it again around 2005 with the Time Spiral block and we got Lorwyn that changed what Planeswalkers were established beforehand. Is the Magic storylines good? Not really, but they could be fun with their theming. Innistrad is considered a classic now when it’s really just Gothic horror and all of its tropes. Is Spider-Man weird in Magic? Sure but Frankenstein’s monster has been in the game since the mid 90’s

@AffinityforMTG
@AffinityforMTG Күн бұрын
@@Tony_Z__ It's a bit convoluted, but I'll try to simplify. Cards in marvel snap have rarities, ranging from 1 to 5. "Series 1" cards are common, and "Series 5" cards are ultra rare. All new cards start at Series 5, making them hard to get initially, but every couple of months there is a "Series Drop," where a big batch of older cards get dropped down to lower rarities so they're easier to obtain. However, they haven't been doing this. They didn't drop the rarity of cards for months, and the pool of rare series 5 card has become massively bloated, making it difficult for free-to-play players to get any of the cards released in the past few months. It would be like if WOTC released entire sets as rare/mythic for months. It's just impossible to keep up with that. Commons/uncommons are important for free-to-play players to play, and Marvel Snap has exclusively released rare Series 5 cards with no rarity downshifts. If you want to see how Marvel Snap fans feel about that, just check the recent Steam reviews. XD

They could make even more money by selling alternate card art for the universes beyond sets that hides their sources. Sort of like those alt arts for crimson vow that made cards into Van Helsing or whoever, but in reverse. Turn the cards more generic, but keep the mechanics. Some people would pay for that.

If it bugs you don't buy magic products; but you probably still will for years and years and if this was not profitable they would not be doing it; so I feel like without a ton of people actually stopping their purchases it will only get worse.

5:02 They didn’t make 4 or 5 worlds before anyway. After they stopped the block structure, they would introduce 1 or 2 new worlds each year and the other sets would be revisiting old worlds which generally requires less creative input except in cases like Kamigawa where everything was completely different

I appreciate the honest introspection about most likely being suckered into buying magic related things on other games because I can relate. I hate the UB being forced into the real non commander formats too and would love to see more good non gimmicky sets but that being said if it was like Berserk and a souls/elden ring type set instead of spider man…. I would be all for it. So really it’s shitty bias and although I’d love those sets and think they’d actually fit decently into magic a fantasy themed ip (originally), the only good option is to just not have UB outside of commander products at all

As long as the world in universe beyond feel similar to what magic the gathering already has then I’m fine with it. Final fantasy is very sword and sorcery like magic already is. Spider-Man is different yes but not different enough that I’m going to quit the game over it.

Its weird to have heman and skeletor show up in your magic deck, flavor wise. But some of the cards are very strong and silly to not include in your tournament deck. I agree that they shouldn't include them in standard. The dumping of constant product on us looks like theyre trying to make a corporate stash before closing down shop, or just keeping up on purchasing demand. Mtg players are 50,000,000+ deep after all.

Magic started off as a counter culture to corporatism. Now it's under Disney. That's the problem in brevity. Those cards are worth much, much more these days.

Hi, with the new sets that have come out since this video use razorkin needlehead, Add redraw like thrill of possibilities, I would throw in whenever you cast a noncreature spell it untaps or does 1 damage. The issue I find is decks have too much removal for mono red for a deck the can one shot after turn 5 with the right setup. Agatha cauldron is a great card as it allows you to get access to tap deal damage effects from your graveyard from them killing your creatures. There is also a red spell diverting spell which is great.
@mcgregorclayton236
@mcgregorclayton236 4 күн бұрын
Also have you tried buffing him? You cast instants that buff and cycle through your deck to allow you to increase his power then add the tapping untapping or noncreature casting effect to deal damage and you can one shot once you are turn five with a good card set.

@@AffinityforMTG The archtype HAS existed forever But to be fair, someone had to brew it (and some people do 'brew' it, they're just not the first). There's nothing wrong with having fun, my initial thoughts going into the video was this was a deck you made but after watching the video I realized it was (likely) a 'netdeck' due to you missing some synergistic talking points and (seemingly) not understanding how cohesive the deck really is. For the record, you never said you brewed the deck, that was just an assumption on my part, I was just making an observation (that I could have worded better, was half asleep). I think showcasing neat/fun decks is great and generally speaking you did a great job doing just that. I was more sad you didn't seem to understand the deck entirely and missed some great call outs. Sidenote, I've NEVER taken a decklist and made that deck. I've always 'brewed' my own decks. Sometimes they turn into similar archtypes but that's mostly because that's how card sets are designed some times and there's only so much creative space. This isn't a slam on people that do 'net deck', more that there are people that 'brew' decks still. Absolutely there are people that 'brew' / iterate a decklist better than me but I have more fun this way and have created some powerful, unique decks (and some jank lol). Sorry for hitting you with the wall of text and again I could have worded my initial comment better (so it sounded less combative). At the end of the day I still think it's a neat video and a neat deck concept, something I might try to build myself (using some core concepts here). If you can inspire people to try new things then generally speaking, you're doing a good job. Personally, I think it's criminal that your videos don't get more engagement, especially with how many subscribers you have and how consistently you upload videos (which I like to think are all of close to the same quality as this one). tldr: I could have worded my comment better, I was only speaking on some missed opportunities in your deck tech, lots of people 'brew', still great content and you should have way more engagement for how consistent your content is. I hope your channel only grows in popularity :) Thank you again and hope you have a wonderful rest of your week
