A musical theory tidbit: the lumberjack version is in E minor, but the later ones, starting with the Loituma version, are in a Dorian mode (the Loituma performance is in Eb Dorian). The change is small, but significant. I tend to prefer the Dorian version.

The original is a pretty good song. The Japanese thing, I don't get. Seems strictly worse than what came before it. What the Turkish guy did with his drum was cool, but nothing has come close to the level of art since loituma came up with their take on this song.

I wasn't aware of all the techno versions. It's an interesting twist, although to me, the Loituma version is still the best. Their new version from 2021 is also worth checking out.
