HI! Is your sup the generation 12.6 x 30 version? How do you feel about sailing at sea with waves? I'm considering purchasing it but first I would like to make sure I don't get the wrong table. thanks, regards Luca

Yes the inflatable one. it is amazing in the waves, really capable,far more than i am! But its not a beginner board i found it quite a challenge initially moving from a super stable 34 inch wide lidl board which had very much been flattering me!I almost exclusively paddle in the sea,but haven't really done alot of surfing on it yet.but even just coming out from beach through shoredump you can see how the nose rocker helps, on a rough day i was coming out with the 3rd in a set of waves coming straight at me head height (on my Knees) and about to break so virtually flat like a wall and just paddled into it hard and to my surprise it went up and over rather than smashing me back to beach as expected. Not sure if any other vids i have up have any waves you can look at, i am a sea paddler rather than a sup surfer so no expert but its great for me and has alot of potential as i will never be better than this board. It is too expensive to buy blind i contacted my local watersports shop and they got a demo in next day from starboard for me to try.

@@ollie1317 I'm not a surfer, I will only use it for paddling and since I live in a seaside town I would like to be sure that even in rough seas it is possible to go out. Previously I had an 11.6x32 Cruise gong that I sold and I wanted to buy something with more performance. Thanks for your feedback

@@LucaLuzzi-wr9ui Its a very capable on the open sea,i have only been sup'ing for 2 years so no expert but probably happily go out in what most would consider rough and its very capable.Everything is a compromise and its a real do everything board,but i guess therefore not as fast as some touring boards if on flat water?kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3_Ehndnrtd_mtE if you look at this clip from about 2:45 it shows how the nose helps, there is a constant wave/chop/boatwash coming at us which is quite big and has no gap between, on a board without the rocker ,the nose would be digging in as you drop off one wave and constantly stalling the board and make it really tricky. My friend is on same board and you can see how the nose is up.I doubt my ability will ever exceed the capabilities of this board. Definately see if you can get out on a demo as its alot of money and not the board for everyone but i have had mine since march and love it!

@@ollie1317 Thank you very much for your availability. Now all I have to do is convince my wife that this SUP is necessary 😅 (this will be the hardest part)

Its a great board.Think that was a 5.7 tushingham rock sail, my weight has had a lot of ups and downs so difficult to remember but probably around 80kg at that time i would guess

Sounds a bit raspy...that normal? Maybe just the microphone too sensitive to higher frequency? Noticed your foot moving the kickstarter a fair bit. Is that a problem to the gearbox in anyway?
@ollie1317
@ollie1317 4 жыл бұрын
I think its probably the microphone. You watched very closely! I have only had bike a few months,i hope it wont cause any gearbox issues! To me the standard curved kickstarter does get in my way a bit might try an alternative some time.Less of an issue on normal roads than this stupid steep and twisty bit which is a rarity round here .

@@ollie1317 The taller MKIII kickstart or aftermarket equivalent can be fitted to earlier bikes. Also there is an extended type from RGM that is hinged to fold in the vertical axis against the Z-plate to get it out of the way of your foot/calf. I've seen that same design on early '70's Honda and some Triumphs.

@@TornadoCAN99 thankyou, yes its the rgm ones i have seen mentioned before. She is away for winter avoiding the road salt now but hopefully come spring we shall find some other commandos out and about and can compare things to see what works and looks best.

@@ollie1317 My '74 850 in same state just now....getting the winter projects underway. Just completed the timing chest work (new chain/tensioning/oil pump honing/new seals), Next up is setting timing up, new rear ISO's (going to try them with engine still in place...can be done apparently), re-routing clutch cable etc.

+Charlie O'Sullivan hi charlie,its a long time ago now but think it was one of those sessions with huge difference in wind ranging from low teens but sometimes gusting close to 40 knots! in the lulls i managed to practice uphauling on what to me is still a small board and later on was really having to take up some strange body positions to keep the board under control when i probably should have had a lot smaller sail
