Can you re-post this video showing the work of piping up the drop out flange ?

How come you didn’t cut out the whole thing out and butt weld it in? It would have avoided filling in the gaps and you’d have a nicer edge to finish to the existing door sill. Asking for a friend!…lol

Butt welding would definitely have been an option but to do that I would have had to very very precisely cut the old metal out. Doing it my way is certainly less professional but takes way less time. If I was restoring a car I would definitely do it your way.

This might sound like a bad idea but do you have to actually anchor It to the floor ? If I set it up without anchoring to the floor will it be a problem. I'm renting this building and they do not want any holes in the floor. Thanks

Guys and Gals, try plugging your fridge into another electric outlet first. After watching your video, I plugged the fridge into the outside electric receptacle on the side of the 5th wheel. I could feel the heater working within 5 minutes. I saved myself hours of aggravation by just by doing that. Anyway, pro tip. Thanks for uploading.

Doing a resto on my father in laws handed down 70s starcraft in which floor was so rotted I had to pull it all up 1st. Using a marine grade plywood with 3 coats of a good water sealer which all wasn't cheap. Was hoping to get a bit more info on how to get the bevels in especially the front Pcs where there's cut outs for the ribs but the entire piece has bevel all the way around.

did this leak make a roaring noise on acceleration from a light but no noise at idle? I have a just an exhaust noise under throttle but seems to be only off idle. cruise has no noise...?

#1- Bad Advise! You save pennies yes, but you'll be digging it up in a few years because its clogged with roots! Then you spend hundreds more to fix it right. #2- those internal couplers are junk as they slow down water flow and will catch debris. Always use external couplers and then wrap joints with tile tape- this tape works extremely well and will keep roots from growing into the joint area. A lot of things can be done on the cheap if you don't mind doing it again it a few years!

An explanation why the pinion nut should be tightened to its previous location would be helpful, since you mentioned marking it. The pinion nut applies the correct compression for proper preload of the meshing pinion and ring gear. 🙂 If one carefully tightens the nut to the previous mark, the gears will mesh as it came from the factory. If over tightened, the meshing could cause premature wear or/and binding in the front axle.

Solid floor never is never the sign of a solid boat. They rot from the bottom up…. I bought a 1988 regal medallion for its engine. The original floor is actually solid. I thought it might make the lake once or twice. I started it and noticed the engine was dancing. Front motor mount gone. Rear stringers gone. Deck overs are dangerous… also why I play with tin boats only unless it’s with a saw all and a dump trailer

Spray some used motor oil inside that x-member to keep it from rusting.

Actually, used motor oil has corrosive components. I use proper undercoating fluid as demonstrated in the video. This is a better approach in my opinion but to each his own.

Thanks. you can buy a cheap wirefeed flux core welder for cheap and it will handle nearly all automotive welding needs. Then get someone to show you how to do it. If you put the word out "free pizza for someone to give me a 30 min welding lesson" and I bet someone would take you up on it.

Here is another tip. When replacing the filter clean the hole in the transmission with a shot of brake clean so there is no oil and the rubber ring has a better grip. Then use green Lube Gard assemblee goo on the contact points of the filter to the valve body. This will hold the filter in place until you can get the pan on. Put the assemnlee goo in the refrigerator for a few hours to make it extra sticky. This product is made to be used in automatic transmissions and will dissolve in transmission fluid. For some reason Ford could not put a screw in the filter to hold it in place. They probably saved 15 cents per transmission by doing this.😑

Thank you. My car has a different issue. The driver side lock doesn’t lock with the remote. We get around by doing it manually from the back door. Is there any easy fix to it ? The dealer wants too much money to fix it.☹️

Also here is a tip if you are not into transmission fluid waterfalls. Drill a 1/4-inch hole in the bottom of the pan first, then remove the dipstick, and let the fluid drain out into a pan for an hour or two. Then remove the pan, replace the filter, clean the pan and magnet. Plug the hole you drilled with JB weld, let it set up and replace the pan. Refill with the same amount of fluid you drained out. A cleaner job without all the mess.😊

I have watched several of these videos and many comments state that they would drain out 5 1/2 quarts of fluid and have to install 7 quarts of fluid to get the proper fluid level. So does this mean that the factory under filled the transmission? Or is the transmission now being over filled? Kind of odd there could be such a difference. There is some fluid in the filter but not that much. Also, I have found that welders gloves help when checking the fluid level.
