can anyone explain the sus4 in 0:17? i'm a beginner in studying harmony. so it made me curious, but i dont seem to find the sus4 isnt that just A13? cause i just see the root + Dom 7 + 9 + 11 +13

Hi, yes, as you wrote, those are the notes of the played chord. So there is no 3rd, but there is an 11th (namely, the 4th), and that's what makes a sus4 chord. In an A13, there would need to be a major 3rd, and probably no 11th as that sounds very dissonant. In that moment the 11th (D) is in the melody and that's why a Asus4 instead a A13 chord is played

The music sheet is FAKE! We jazz pianists never take chords like in the notation. So whats your purpose with this????? Putting the original 1962 soundtrack under this nonsense?
