Karnivool is pure magic. I challenge people to find me a band this diverse in their soundscapes and do all of them so l well there’s plenty of bands out there that do a lot of soundscapes and they’re good at some and not good at others. These guys are just authentic and weird and none of it sounds contrived. It’s amazing. I didn’t fall in love with their first album. I fell in love with their second album and then when the third one came out, I was just blown away. I just couldn’t get over how good it is. Couldn’t stop listening to it still. After falling in love with the second and third album I went back and listened to the first and understood it in a completely different light and I see how amazing it is as well but the path they took in their progression was just absolutely perfect for me I think can imagine at the very least why they haven’t put out another album because it’s gotta be hard to write anything that sounds good. After writing all the content they’ve written absolutely beautiful. I do think they’ll come out with another album. I just hope that they stay as committed to their authenticity and their art. This is Life like find me another band that does all this And does it this well and then does it as well live. It’s unbelievable. I challenge anyone to literally tag me with another live performance of another band that does something as eclectic, diverse, dynamically speaking, and performed and executed on this level please I would love to hear it. The challenge isn’t one of fuck you it doesn’t exist. It’s please show me that I beg you. Sorry this was a ramble. Talk to text while I’m driving, but I just can’t plead and beg someone read this someone tag me someone find something this good

I didn't like Asymmetry at release. I listened to it once or twice but didn't get it, so I left it, lamenting the fact that the band that had produced Sound Awake had gone bad. A few years later I decided to give it another chance. And damn. It hit me like a f****g train. I now believe it's one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created. Nothing changed except my perception. I wasn't ready for Asymmetry, but now I'm just glad I get to live in an era where works of art like this is created. Thanks Karnivool.

Same experience here. Really goes to show it’s worth revisiting an album, song or even a whole band you used to not like.

Ditto here. Though it didn't take me that long to get the vibe of Asymmetry, but it sure was a wild trip after the first two albums. And this was like 10 years ago. Karnivool has been my favourite band for the better part of my adult life. The arrangements are just amazing. Insane dynamics and truly groundbreaking instrumentals, it's the most mindful music I've come across all these years. And the vocals and lyrics are something else. It's basically poetry, it's not at all straightforward and can be interpreted a number of ways, and even after all these years I get immense joy from listening to their albums. I still discover guitar parts I haven't been able to isolate because it all blends together so nicely. And lyrics wise my most recent discovery is that the first two albums mostly convey themes that fit the individual and his/her experiences and struggles, while Asymmetry to me paints a broader picture of societal themes that translate very well to what we see going on in the world today. They've released these over 8 years, from 2005-2013, and I am not at all surprised they have a hard time following up with their fourth release, as they have produced more miracles in these few years than most acts could hope for in decades. I was lucky enough to see them live in 2023, had to book a trip to London, but it was well worth it. When they drop the new release, I will be sure to catch up with them on their european tour!

Everything here is spot on. I just don't prefer (As a life long, 41 years) bassist play every note on the low B from the 20th fret down to the nut and up again. You have a 5 string bass.....use the damnrmed thing. Thank you😊

Karnivool blew my mind live in concert. Being able to hear a perfectly mixed session of them playing is heavenly. The guitar sounds are so lush . And then they kick you in the stomach with slow riffs sliding up and down the neck creating a sense of intensity and foreboding warning The vocals can be heard without overshadowing the band. The mixing is very balanced, so you aren't losing the little details that make Karnivool even more spectacular than they already are. I don't know what a perfect mix is, but to me, this sounds outstanding! By the way hearing Ian say " that was the tits" totallyn 😂out of nowhere cracked me up

Attended Karnivool’s Tricontinental Drift tour here in Delhi. Aeons was part of the setlist and god it sounded the exact same live, they were so so good! In the end Steve threw his drumsticks in the crowd and I got hold of one mid air 😭❤️ Best Night Ever!

The music of Karnivool is like a musical Big Bang - a creation of the universe and, in equal measure, an end to the universe. It's profoundly deep both musically and lyrically - an emotional explosion that caresses the mind and soul. The sonic landscapes they craft feel like the genesis of something monumental, and yet, there's an undeniable sense of closure in every note. Karnivool's artistry is a journey that transcends the boundaries of mere sound; it's a cosmic experience that resonates with the very essence of existence. I've found myself immersed in a world where each note is a celestial body, and every lyric is a constellation of profound thoughts. It's as if their music possesses the power to create and unravel the cosmos at will. Karnivool has become not just a band to me, but a cosmic force - an entity that defines the very fabric of my musical universe.
