Good going old mate. Yeah, I agree it doesn't have to always be the views - I love a good mist-filled mountain. The cave served its purpose - kept secret of course back in the day. Well, have a great weekend ahead. Just subscribed on account of the fantastic vibes. All the best. Mark

Just watched your KZbin. A much better video. Right choice of music. Vary a little bit though. Ambient sound recording could be done when recording the water flows. Probably not the winds 😌. Your bicycle looks cool. Aerial recording is indeed professional 👌 👏. Views are stunning as are the scallops!! 254 km in 2 days 🤠. Lloyd is untalkingly the great architect behind the video. Congratulations 🎊 👏

It's good to see you enjoying Scottish weather! I recognise the cows at 9:27. I live in Durness and wondered if you'd ever been here when I saw your Ullapool video. In your South Cotswold one you went through Nailsworth where my brother lives. Sometimes I wonder about the algorithm.

@@grahamjones25 The weather just makes it all interesting… if sometimes only really appreciated once home and dry 😜. Algorithm or small world?… or perhaps both.

Thanks for sharing this. It looks like a lovely route, I will have to try it one day. Like you, I came to the conclusion after many years of cycle touring that I was carrying far too much stuff, that I just didn't need. Now I have made a conscious decision to travel as light as possible and, even on multi-day rides, if I can't get everything in one pannier, it doesn't go. Mind you, I don't camp but use B&B's - I like a hot shower and a comfy bed after a days cycling! Looking forward to more rides.

@@rickgordongordonellissteel3761 Camping on a day and warm night is great… not so much when it’s raining or cold. I definitely I like a mix of camping and hotel/b&b - I do this for fun after all! I like your one pannier rule! What has surprised me is how little stuff I can get by with (if only for a few days) but also makes me appreciate the little extra stuff at home that makes life easy/comfortable… like a kettle!

@BeMoreOutdoors2 ай бұрын
@@nevertoopoortotour.3033 Especially practical when cycling a linear route. I do this quite often. Removes the need to arrange for a lift/taxi. You might find a video I’ll be releasing in the coming few months interesting - I cycle one way and take the train the other way to different coastal towns. Happy cycling and thanks for watching.

I'm fairly certain I recognised you both from your short stay at the ullapool campsite, it was unfortunate it was about the worst summer weather I have experienced in the many years we have holidayed at Ullapool. Take care and best wishes on your future travels.

Thank you. If we looked windswept and tired then yes that would be us 😂. Now that we are safe, warm and dry (with a story to tell 😊), we look back in awe at the Highlands flexing its muscles… and with fondness at people we met along the way. Hope you had a more sheltered stay in Ullapool. Come say hi next time.
@grahamjones252 ай бұрын
I did a similar cycle a few weeks ago, but I was luckier with the weather. Tore to Ullapool on one of the warmest calmest sunniest days of the year, though I did not like the busy A835. I stopped at Tarvies too. Then over to Harris and a rented cottage for a week with friends (and more cycling). Returning to Ullapool I cycled to Durness in one go, with a massive tailwind. Around Kylesku the gusts were scary and from random directions and I pushed some places, but overall a big help. Unfortunately for my friends who stayed a day later than me, their ferry was cancelled and they got stuck on Harris.

Glad you had a good cycle! The A385 is not the highlight of the route but the highlands more than make up for it… even when it might feel at times it’s trying to kill you 😜. Hope your friends managed to enjoyed their forced extended stay without too much onward planning disruption.
