Use a guitar pick, credit card, or similar thin plastic prying tool to separate the lower seam just slightly. Mine didn't really pop into place until I gave it a little extra space.

That little removal maneuver is a bit deceptive, as the person removing the cradle plate is BEHIND the GPS, reaching "through" the windshield to put his hand around the unit. Tjis is not so easily done when sitting in the car seat. Trying that maneuver with the thumb on the bottom is not so easy, especially since the GPS is often sitting in the dash. Voice of experience here.

I understand your theory about how this is “not blocking airflow”, but I beg to differ - this is no better (it is worse, actually!) than the mount that uses a vent hook clip (what I use now) and definitely blocks the direct air stream to your upper body. Non starter for me.

This is not a good mounting spot on the Outback as it interferes with the passenger's left knee padded rest. It's also unsafe since it requires the driver looks down while driving.

Hell no these guys are pricey. They charge for single items which is ridiculous. The clip plate alone $39.99 only the clip plate if you want the phone holder to it’s also 39.99. In total it’s $82.49 with taxes with free shipping I think if not add that to the price. It’s absolutely ridiculous and absurd that they would charge this much for these two separate items. I rather build my own from Home Depot the parts are cheap and less than what these guys charge.

This company is a scam. Don't buy this mount they tried to charge me for refunding this garbage product. The refund fee is as much as a brand new phone mount in 2024. Don't spend 5x the amount on their bad quality product its way outdated for the current marketplace price and quality too.

@@n54e82 I ended up being able to returning it after complaining a lot in email. I got a "popsocket" and "popsocket" phone mount instead. It was around 20$ for both, and it fits both my phone, and my girlfriends phone (so we just got two instead). Way cheaper than this crappy mount, and ours stays in place just as good as the ProClip. I wouldn't recommend the Proclip, just buy a regular phone mount instead. Maybe they were able to scam people for 75$+ back when this released, but now-a-days there are cheaper alternatives.
