Wrong! I got gel nails. Didn't have them removed with a file, didn't peel them and my nails are so thin now and jagged, constantly peeling, breaking and tearing. Gel ruined my nails!

Looking for new polishes and base/top coats after 2 years almost all my Young Nails products have thickened and are awful. I am so disappointed
@sunflower643410 күн бұрын
I’ve developed it after 10 years of using gel polish, but I think, in my opinion, it mostly started because I started trimming and filing away my cuticles and skin around my nail instead of using cuticles cream. ( Like I used to do.) Which allowed the gel products to enter my nails and skin faster. Once they heal, I’m NOT going to do them on a regular bases anymore, and allow them to grow out as much as possible and just do my nails on special occasions. I think because I / we have been repeatedly (every 2-3 weeks) filing, buffing and redoing them that we have weakened our natural nail beds that allows even more gel products to enter our nails and skin. Which I never did my nails that often in the past, but with KZbin & me being home, I thought I was able to have them pretty year round. In the future I’m going to allow a millimeter of free gel polish around the nails. No more full coverage. Or im going to try a small amount of gel on the base of nail (for strength) and apply regular nail polish on top. I don’t care now if they don’t look anything like the pictures on social media. As we really don’t know how often they really do their nails or how far between each video they do their nails. I have a strong suspicion most people who do their nails at home will eventually get this allergy. Unless they find non allergic gel polishes and / or stop putting the chemicals that causes these allergies in the gel polishes.

It’s also great for removing calluses. It’s actually mentioned on the back of the bottle. Dry skin on elbows too.

Hi I have a question! If I am doing a fill from previous hard gel work and there is a thin layer of product on the nail; Will the cuticle softener put that layer at risk of lifting?

Amazing lady, not in it for the money. 25 years of acrylic and Gel, nails completely damaged and ruined. After using the local Chinese in my town, they got more aggressive using there tools. It burned under the lamps, but they said my nails were weak. Thanks to them! A new English lady was recommended to me, I thought brilliant she could fix them for me as seemed to understand nail care and damage, and was using hema free products. My nails were actually lifting off the nail bed, she told me I had psoriasis under the nail. She rebuilt my nails, with acrylic, cut old nail away. They kept breaking and she got annoyed about fixing them. So I told her I was going to have a break and let them heal. I wanted about 3 weeks to heal and make appointment with her for Christmas as I said they were very sore. She told me she had no appointment for Christmas. She didn’t offer to remove the acrylic. I went to a Chinese shop to get it removed they soaked it off and told me to use tree oil for 6 weeks. To be honest I am not going to have them done again, I am hoping the will grow natural and be health that’s what would make me happy now. I have found you can’t trust anyone, they want to be fast with there tools and even English use them now. Thank you for your video as now I know what to do as for the cuticles.

Chiming in in 2024! Their Unity gels are AMAZING. My last set lasted 7 weeks (I know I shouldn't have let it go that long but I'm a slacker).. No lifting or chips. I removed it because it was so grown out and I wanted a change of color. All it needed was some good cuticle cleanup and a dehydrator. I did use a top coat because I wanted extra shine and a better apex (very long and flat nails). LOVE bioseaweedgel now, it cut so much time off doing my nails.

I’ve always said that it’s not the product that damages your nail but improper prep and product removal! Even though I know this, I’m a DIY hobbyist and have done some damage to my nails due to lack of experience… however, if I know I’ve done some damage, I will cut my nails right down and give them time to heal. Thank you for these great, simple tips! I’ve subscribed and will certainly start watching more of your videos. 👍🏻

What are u using to remove the gel paint once its completed? Is it acetone or simple nail polish remover ?
@stephyislive759529 күн бұрын
its not cured so its easily wiped off with a lint free nail towels/napkins. try alcohol to wipe it because acetone makes the acrylic nails soft a bit and it takes some acrylic off if you have acrylic. i hope this helps.

The ONLY way to have healthy nails after ANY type of gel, acrylic etc, you grow a full new nail bed. That's it.

I decided today to get my gel nail polish off and take a break from it. The nail lady that I’ve been going to for years does very obviously rush and she uses the file to remove the polish. When I told her today I just want it off and don’t want to get a gel manicure she told me multiple times how my nails are bad and I need the gel nail polish. After the she told me that I need it for the second time I told her how my nails are super thin, they hurt and break easily and she didn’t ask again. I think that’s funny because clearly it is her fault my nails are like that. Im just thinking, this girl does not care about my nail health she just wants my money.. I’m so sick of her, I only go to her because my mom likes her and pays for my manicure when I go there but when I have her do designs it is so bad, she rushes so much and takes advantage of the fact that I always come back. Never again.. if my mom likes it, good, but I will never see her again (my nail lady and I have beef)

Thanks so much for putting this together for women like me that had suffered from wrong nail salon technical issues. I would like to get recommendations on what is the best hardener for nails in recovery (natural). I am doing what you suggested plus adding oil to my nails as I noticed oils prevents them from braking further.
