My current file has the "above the stairs" associated with the living room, and below the stairs is open to, and part of a bedroom. I know I can see what the variable is, and manually enter the SF, LF .... But is there a way to assign the understairs area to another room?

Hello is there a way to just mark up the preset zip code/region by a flat percentage for all line items? I know Xactimate offers creating your own list but who has the time to go into each line item? Is there a way to just mark up the pricing automatically IE if Xactimate is off by 30% for an area can I just do a simple change to the estimate without having to go into each component?

I have a question for being an IA in Florida. I do have another job that takes me away from Florida for 2 weeks then I'm back in Florida for 2 weeks. Can an IA take jobs for 2 weeks at a time or when I'm in Florida. That would be me working independent. Thanks for the Video it was helpful.

Is there anyone on your level that is more geared towards interior restoration? Water, Fire, Asbestos, Mold damages and rebuild? ou're Xactimate tips are awesome for the most part, but the tips to get by adjuster objections and photo taking are more in line with roofing. I'd like to have something like those videos more in line with interior work to show my technicians.

The adjuster objections in the last year or so have become less and less based in reality. especially in water damage restoration

It is my goal to learn as much about Xactimate that I can but I’m curious once we learn and get certified with Level 1 is it enough to have just level 1 to land a job helping out busy contractors that are out in the field while someone such as myself would be working from home for them helping crank out estimates all day long and if so - in your opinion what would you say an average pay range could be for us once we have level 1 cert.? Ive done this for over a decade for large loss mitigation, repairs, contents etc. I am currently handling contractor based estimates for large loss repairs after Hurricane Helene... what good is certification if Xactimate is WAY WAY WAY off from reality of labor and materials for this area. Its not logistically feasibly to override every single component price and submit comparable pricing for well.... EVERYTHING. The estimates for this area have been a mess, the adjusters, IAs, and insurance have done a horrible job. I am talking exponentially off IE initial repair estimate at 45K and mine ends up being 525K. Not even remotely close. I always LOL when they pay 30K to remove a tree but give 40K to repair a house that imploded by a 3 meter tree and put in for a 60 foot crane for a truss package on a road thats 4' wide and surrounded by trees. Please kill me. Thank you. I have no idea how to fix this other than change components pricing which is absurd. Verisk/XA is owned by the insurance companies....they should have nothing to do with pricing. Neither should ITEL. Yeah....130 a square for composite shingles. Lowest price I can get in this area starts at 240 before tax, materials, delivery, etc. Absurdly off....

Is there any way to get purple auto calculated items for framing to show in the actual room I am framing? Not "Main level" I know how to make the framing visible on the sketch but having the purple items under main sketch is completely useless for insurance. It needs to be in the room I am framing. It's extremely annoying and a useless feature if I still have to manually put in framing items into the room so the adjuster knows which room I am framing.

BEST option when doing appraisals and these are numbers the umpire wants to review - the line items the two appraisers can not agree upon.

Should I get certified in xactimate and then learn to estimate or do you reccomend me learning to estimate first so I can stay on deployments by estimating properly?
