The trouble with nerves, as I always say, is that each tiny nerve knows practically nothing (meaning that individual nerves are dummies), but at the same time, has been endowed with WAY-y-y too much *voting power* (meaning that ridiculously stupid responses will get switched <ON>, simply because an ultra-stupid tiny nerve SAID SO.) in large part, that is what human existence amounts to... half of our mentality thinks and responds logically... BUT... that "thinking half" is hopelessly "married" to billions of tiny-yet-stupid nerves... and it only takes ONE dissatisfied nerve... that has been endowed with too much voting power... to switch <ON> a hopelessly stupid response... which won't turn <OFF> until the responsible nerve finds satisfaction. What will it take to make a dissatisfied nerve once again satisfied? In many cases, God only knows. I do know that a dissatisfied nerve can cause an otherwise healthy person to suddenly have a stutter, combined with facial nerve twitches, for years and years. Sometimes, long intervals of quiet meditation are necessary, to get an overwrought, damaged nerve to heal, and thereby once again be capable of handling the massive amount of "signal traffic" that passes through each and every nerve. In other cases, to "shake" a damaged nerve out of its damaged state, you need to throw the afflicted person right back into the fray of danger, and against all sensibility, have that person suddenly decide to be brave and "go-into-action", by taking charge of themself.
