Hi, I've had my Dirt E about the same time as yourself. Mine is still completely standard as it came, but I totally agree with your comments and upgrades my friend 👍 I have a few other bikes and probably have not been riding my e bike as much as you over the last six years, but now at 70 I'm appreciating it's benefits and starting to use it more and maybe upgrading a few things. Enjoyed your video, thanks

did you use a new cam thrust plate?
@ob1nКүн бұрын
That's a good question. I don't think I did. It requires nothing different really other grinding off the aluminum from the backside of the timing cover

Doesn't back-filling the holes right after the concrete is poured around your concrete posts weaken the concrete?
@ob1nАй бұрын
I understand your concern. Yet, to answer your question, no. The backfill covers the concrete and doesn't mix with it. It insulates if the weather is cold and also provides a nice compression weight. The main reason we back fill immediately is to help hold the columns firmly in place until the concrete can slightly harden

I appreciate the information. I got anxiety 5 times through the video. I've built a few of these and I feel like I'm more lost now than I have even been.
@ob1nАй бұрын
No need to be nervous. I tried my best to perform everything as a "step". Just pause the video after every "step" and then resume. That's the beauty of today's video tech is that it can be broken down by pausing, rewinding, etc.. When I made this video, I had practiced several times before actually recording. Good luck

So is this guy saying 75k oil change intervals, I think that is what he is claiming. Anyway I do 24k intervals with my 16 prius and signature series . I had it tested after 24k miles on it and the test came back I probably could have run that oil another 20k the filter im pushing it with its also amsoil filter or whomever make that cartridge. Ive been drinking the amsoil coolaid for many years now and goes in everything I own and have owned, boats,bikes,sxs,gens, will not use anything else....

I have never seen a dyno prove a 10hp loss. This includes 900hp engines and 190hp diesels. Never seen a loss of over 5 lbs torque. Usually less. The funny thing is if you do the “Techline- dry lube” it eliminates most of those losses. That also quiets them down. The difference is they last literally millions of miles. See diesel applications for examples- and those cams drive 4,000 and up psi injection pumps. The vibration thing is- they are simply noisy enough to trigger knock sensors. How you degree the cam is mor critical because you only turn them one way - not back and forth to find difference in TDC measurement. Smaller gear is called idler gear btw. You said it right later on. Haha. The bronze thrust washer is a “bearing”. Bronze is a self lubricant metal. Techmine coating all the steel is smart but not required. For checking the shaft clearance- use plasti-gauge. Weld on the cover/ grind flat to make up the difference of clearance. I never see responses or questions but am frequently on a 6.2/6.5 GM diesel site called thetruckstop.us SBC and these 6.2/6.5 diesels are where I have most my expensive on them. Good video man- I’m trying to find some to help guys diy there own on these engines rather than me explaining on the phone. - Will.

Beautiful truck ! I have a 66 F350 dually and it still has the old dim headlights in it I wonder if these would work on mine with a little persuasion lol. Mines even the same color I believe my dad said that is called Robin egg green or Robin egg blue can’t remember for sure😂
@ob1nАй бұрын
There's so much confusion on what the color is actually called BUT I have found the Behr aerosol can paint at the Home Depot called "Tropics" is dang close. I've used it many times for little items and nobody can tell it's spray paint. Your 66 should be exactly the same and I show you in this video what needs to be done to make these work/fit

On the rear quarter panel it's not called an eyebrow it's called a fender extension, and no you cannot heat it up because it's pot metal it should have been formed to the body when in the Bodywork session as far as a trunk goes the Springs are adjustable in the adjustment to the hood lid tension, you need to do your own due diligence
@ob1n2 ай бұрын
You need to calm da fuq down! 🤣 Those spring rods are at max tension. On fact, I'm pretty sure I have them beyond the maximum slot. The weight of the paint, rust encapsulator and sound deadening inside obviously has made that lid heavier. Like I said in the video, I'll be using magnets for the hold open position. If you want to get SUPER DUPER technical; it's a quarter panel extension. But I've heard them called taillight eyebrow, rear taillight covers, and other stuff. 🤷🏼♂️

I am putting this same system in my 72 coupe. Your videos have been very informative and helpful. Are you planning to charge it with R12 or R134a Freon? and will you be doing it yourself? I am thinking of using R134a on mine.

I can't really speak about "beginner's ability" but if you are cautious and detailed, I don't see why this couldn't be done by anyone paying attention.

I agree that yellow C4 - C6 book is not the best and can lead to problems for someone that has not rebuilt a transmission before. It leaves some things out and is unclear in places. Those Motor Manuals are really good if you can find one.

Ebay is the best place I have found for any ol school auto literature. The Motors manuals are very thorough and have a lot of descriptions with photos. Can't say enough about them. Whenever I was concerned about anything, the Motors manual is where I would turn to

I have a question. I also have a ‘71 Mustang and I’m thinking about buying this same kit. Once you reinstalled the dash assembly did this AC/heater box assembly hang down below the dash where you can see it or is it tucked up inside where you can’t really see it. Thanks in advance.
@ob1n5 ай бұрын
I haven't put my dash in the car yet. But I believe that you are going to see the bottom portion of this unit somewhat. But I also believe it won't be as bulky as the original, factory setup either. I wish I had time to finish my car faster and keep update videos coming yet life sometimes gets in the way. I'm hoping to see more progress coming within the next few months
