This is awesome. I’m a massive Firebirds/Kraken fan who just started this playing goalie this year. The amount of physical and mental adjusting has been ridiculous. It’s really helpful to gain some more insight about the brain’s role in the whole thing. Also, as a life long audio/video nerd with no real athletic experience, it’s so rad to get this kind of info from a favorite player on a favorite team 😎

Great Video! I wish more NHL players did stuff like this. Very interested to see your meals are pretty low carb - does that stay the same during the season? Do you have any fast carbs post practice / game/ workout?

Gotta say I’m surprised how much more mature you are compared to other videos I’ve seen of pretty much any other athlete. Loving family goes a long way and it seems like ya have it. Good on ya man good luck this upcoming season.

Do you have any advice for a kid who wants to make the league one day? Like what areas of the sport are the most important to improve on, what should be the focus, and how to be consistent

Hi Connor, I've been subbed since your first pod and just find it unfortunate that you don't have a bigger audience. Would you ever consider joining a podcasting network that might have a bigger reach (like Steve Dangle's, seeing how you're kinda familiar with each other)? It's so rare for active pros to be doing this and your discussions are always great so keep up the good work!

Really good episode. This is really Connor at his most authentic self, comfortably talking about all those things he's learned (and shared in other episodes), but also in a really relatable way around hockey development and career. Having other experts on is really informative , but I found this one more enjoyable.

Con, you gotta do a podcast with your dad. He can talk and tell stories in such a unique way. I think that woukd be cool. Growing up Carrick is the title. Do it haha. Just talking g about the start of you as a kid and how you developed into a player through uncle jorys eyes. Thatd be cool.
