Totally fake, the "Plymouth" across the top of the windshield @ 0:36 is spelled with two T's. And I'm not sure what's under the car @ 1:07, but it says "Pumouith"? Nice try, but fail.

Crazy ad , I had a pinto hatchback as well as the wagon, I can see saving a name but this not a pinto of the past. An excellent example of everything videoed or on the web is not true.

Nothing but a photoshop customized version of a Ford GT body. Not a real car folks. Too bad. Besides, nobody in their right mind would bring back the Pinto model name because of the horrible safety and quality record of the Pinto. Either ford makes a mustang or a Torino. Naming a mustang a Torino, is sacrilege. Creating a sport gt40 and using the Pinto name is a marketing blunder beyond belief. I'm in favor of creating a sporty Pinto, but not with gt40 attributes. Whatever ford does, do not make an electric Pinto.

All things being equal this looks like a much better car then the old hatchback design of the 1970's. I see elements of the GT40. At issue back then was the lack of safety, mostly due to poor gas tank placement, poor handling characteristics, due to its narrow tract and poor suspension and lack of power due to its little under powered engine. This new design represents a significant role that 21st. century technology has brought to the table. It's wider, lower and equipped with wider tires. Hopefully Ford replaced the old suspension system opting for the type used in Japanese products that are four independents. Four-wheel disc brakes will help as well. Offering higher output engines and both a manual transmission, and 6 speed automatic option will help there. isolating the gas tank will be a big plus too.
