M1s have been retired for over a decade. M3s are still around and the most clear difference is the M1 cab window looks more like an M7 or M8 while an M3 has a different looking cab window

Fairly certain it’s in the double digits. Last time I went railfanning, about 4 went by doing express runs, so I’m positive there’s still a good amount. Also Atlantic, do you happen to know what your camera of choice is. I’ve been considering buying one instead of using my phone to record. Keep up the good work!
