can you explain why need left few mm of the rubber out when do cutting?
@djngdhnКүн бұрын
I don’t think you’ve done a good job dude. I would guess after you’ve put the rubber on, there would be streak marks which is from uneven glue applied. When the rubber is removed, the glue would not be removable as a film. The cutting, god. Also. The MXP glue, I bet it’s got a lot of dried up glue dots right after you applied the glue.
@djngdhnКүн бұрын
You don’t have to do only one side at a time dude! Just put a piece of CLEAN paper on the side that you’re not working on. The glue doesn’t stick to the paper.

Why glue the blade a day in advance when it dries so quickly and so much more quickly than the rubber you are gluing? Its just going to collect dust all night. I dont think i have misglued in my last 50 glue jobs. You mess up almost each one you do here 😂.

I lose many points when the ball comes slow and high to may backhand. This is probably one of the weakest aspects of my game. My issue is that I notice too late that this scenario happened, and then can't properly attack such a ball because it is too high. How can I recognize such balls sooner so that I can get ready for them and either attack them sooner, before they get too high, or step back?

When making an underspin serve, it is said that if the ball contacts the lower side of the paddle, it produces more spin, and if it contacts the upper side, it produces less or no spin. Why? This video claims that in the former case the ball rolls on the paddle, and in the latter case it can't. I don't think the ball rolls on the paddle. The ball contacts the rubber, the rubber grabs it, and then catapults it. Slow motion videos show the same. My guess is that when the ball contacts the lower side of the paddle, the paddle is moving at its highest speed, and when it contacts the upper side, the paddle is already slowing down or is almost slowed down to a halt. Can somebody who knows shed some light into it?

Maybe the pro that used to put 3 layera of booster on backhand rubber (eur / jap), maybe the rubber was hard or maybe it was thinner thickness (not max spnge). Because if you boost a max sponge eur/jap ittf inspection could reprove your racket for overcime 4.0mm thickness of rubber.

@dennisgustafsson12069 күн бұрын
Also at non pro level there is a lot of boosting, what's the issue in the end? it's admittedly a grey zone from IITF. They know they can't check on it since the very same booster oil/chemicals is what they use in the factories to make them playable. Since there is a limited time of effect after boosting players do it themselves when purchasing new rubbers. I'm from the speed glue era (old) and the stuff you had back then had at least 3 times more effect (yes properly speed glued sriver kicks any modern rubbers with booster), modern booster oil is no danger for health either. I hope next rule changes will include this and the serve issues.
@freddupont96059 күн бұрын
@@dennisgustafsson1206 I'm highlighting his honesty. There's no grey zone on the topic as the ITTF states you can't change the properties of the topsheet and boosters do. Therefore, they're illegal. But indeed there's no way to check. I'm also from the speed glue era, played in 1st national league in Belgium when Saive was world number 1 and trained at the Borussia Düsseldorf in 2015-2016. I was using Samba and a huge amount of speed glue. The switch to the P-Ball and 40 mm drastically decreased speed and spin. They could easily fix the serve issue with the Hawk Eye. The Chinese team used the Hawk Eye in 2020 just before a competition. 15 cameras and it works perfectly. During a match the umpire called WCQ serve. WCQ challenged the call and...the angle was 26 degrees BUT what the umpire did NOT look at was the head and the body: WCQ was hiding the ball with both his head and his body. This was VERY clear with the Hawk Eye. So, basically the serve issue can be fixed easily with this Hawk Eye.

@ All chemical and mechanical things that you do to a rubber is not allowed. H3 might be designed for boosting but that just makes it a useless rubber. Boosting at the supplier (preboosted) is allowed, but not by a player.

@ In the ITTF Handbook, rule 2.4. 7 states “The racket covering shall be used without any physical, chemical or other treatment”.
@alexcook81649 күн бұрын
@@henrikwikstrom5705 correct citation. It is not spelled out by the text but in practice this refers to the rubber only. The rubber is approved by ittf, not the sponge. You can even change your sponge. The manufacturer of course does this, same rubber different sponge with no official indication like the rubber code. This means customization by boosting is allowed so long as it passes 4.0 total thickness and voc content. There is no way to prove otherwise actually, so it can't even be illegal if it's unenforceable.
@craigwinters57249 күн бұрын
@@alexcook8164 Illegal is illegal, whether it's enforceable or not. What you are saying is it's not a crime if I don't get caught. And boosting the sponge does change the characteristics of the rubber. One of the effects of boosting is to swell the sponge thereby adding tension to the topsheet. So you have changed the rubber and violated the rules. Boosting is just the new speedglue. Lance Armstrong was stripped of his cycling medals and banned because he used peds. Just because everyone else does it is not a defense. The Chinese all do it so we don't want to offend the Chinese. Whether the ban is a good idea or not is another matter. Speedglue was allegedly banned because of dangerous voc's. Once those were removed, it was still banned. Chinese didn't like it because it gave an advantage to Europeans. Now the advantage is with Chinese. Table tennis needs to grow some cahones.
