My favourite Martin guitar moment is on “Fletchcam” when he plays “Crazy” and Fletch sings along in the background

Incredible to know Martin is essentially self taught. On a separate note, as we mourn the tragic loss of another pop star under tragic circumstance, my thoughts are with both Dave and Martin and how thankful I am that somehow they have come through their demons. But for the grace of God, as Mart might say… ❤

Favreau the "Feige" of Star Wars? Yes, I'd say that the chances are very good that it's something that Disney/LFL would want to happen. The question is if Favreau is on-board for it.

Favreau seems to be the only one over there that can make Star Wars that feels like Lucas Star Wars, He knows how to tell a story and put it to screen. I dont have as much faith in Filoni but with he and Favreau working together, they've proven they can make good Star Wars. But the suits have to stay out of it. Just give them creative control, leave them alone and let them cook.

Around this time right now we would receive full theatrical trailers of a Star Wars movie during a football game. Maybe around this time next year we could get a small teaser of the Mandalorian and Grogu

I love this album. Ive got a friend who works for BBC Radio 6 behind the scenes and he got hold of a CD of MM a month before release. As he wasn’t a huge fan he gave it to me. I rushed home, stuck it in the CD player and it wouldn’t play 😮. It was a CD-R so Im guessing thats why. Strangely, I tried a few times and it eventually worked although it would only play up to Carolines Monkey then would jump to Never Let Me Go. In the end I binned it out of contempt but Id heard enough to be impressed. Less excited about the 12”s that have come out. So expensive!

My least liked DM album. Two good songs at most. Im conflicted about buying the 12” box as I have all the double pack 12”s from the original release so basically Id only be interested in the extra 12”. Annoyingly, I have all the other boxes so it seems silly to miss one. Decisions!

Puppets TSATR And Then Lie To Me Stripped NLMDA Clean WIMS Sister Of Night Shine The Sinner In Me Wrong Broken Cover Me Ghosts Again What I miss about DM these days, and I seem to be the only one who notices it, is the no more sampling thing. When was the last album with samples on ? SOFAD ? Those strange sounds like the Russian radio stations, the porn samples, throwing pots and pans around, all that stuff. Sampling was such an integral part to their sound and its absence is felt. Think of Clean or I Want YouNow without those weird sounds. They wouldn’t be the same. Something like Cover Me or Before We Drown could be pushed to a higher level with some tasty sampling. Martin could easily sample and mangle his huge Eurorack system or even his guitars. But these days I get the feeling they just can’t be arsed.

Let's also not forget that Star Wars Rebels laid the groundwork for a whole ton of Star Wars content, it expanded upon the lore and added more significance and importance to the original trilogy as well it's like the tiny piece of the puzzle that completes the picture

The Mandoverse Era characters are the face of present day Star Wars. We have The Mandalorian that is the Patriarch figure , Ahsoka Tano as it stands is our new Matriarch figure and Grogu is the child but he's also like a prince a pint sized King Arthur

Can`t you put pressure on anyone you know within the industry to get those 4 tracks released haha?. We fans want it more so because the album is so bloody good. I thought they hit 100msales years ago, around the Exciter era. My fav album cover has to be MFTM, I know it`s not a dramatic master picture or art but it was the theme that went into the singles art as well. The polaroid's on maps with NLMD, the bong speakers in random places, It was meant to look a little armature and it fit the title MFTM so well.

The album covers were so important for me too. Some Great Reward is my favourite DM album cover. It sold the album to me before hearing a note. Then the songs changed my world! Brian Griffen was a genius and was a key component in their early success I believe.

They are breaking down the podcast in two parts. Part one is up now. It's very interesting. Would like to hear your thoughts on it. You are still my #1 podcast (just sayin').

I think all the mandoverse stuff should come first since it’s still a few decades away from the sequel trilogy and it could help set up for future timelines so we might as well just wait until at least Dave Filonis film releases

The reporting on the Mandalorian-Grogu story has been sensationalized on a lot of social media accounts. Favreau's "Mandalorian-Grogu" movie will most certainly NOT be the end of the story for Din & Grogu. We already know that Din & Grogu will be in Filoni's movie that comes after Ahsoka S2, and it's safe to say that their characters will certainly be in other shows, movies, comics, and novels. The Disney+ "Mandalorian" show will conclude with Favreau's movie. That's all. No Mandalorian S4 show, and no sequel movies that continue that specific story arc.

I love DM and Dave. can`t stand soul savers. The one thing I never liked about DM was the bluesy stuff that I think came from Dave. I always thought that all the love for Alan was for how he crafted the sound of DM and how he made Martins songs better. The biggest miss from Alan in the post Alan era in my opinion was not polishing Martins songs or the sound. I believe Alan would of not let Dave/DM go so much bluesy/wishy washy. Regarding SGR album, It was a xmas present from my older brother, I was 10, I liked it but there was a lot of music around me that was on par with it at that time .However in 1997 Music for the Masses blew me away, nothing else sounded like it in the charts at all..

The worst live song from this last tour was Speak to me. It was dropped as it really did not work. I`m amazed they tried to do it live because it doesn't even feel like it ever could work live. It feels like a Dave thing with the arty farty stuff he likes. On another subject we recently had "Get the Balance Right" birthday. I love the track, I don`t think the band were ever proud of it, but I don`t think they ever played it live.

Hey Jon - often dream of just “bumping” into Mart or Dave (“Dream On”) - and though I would likely not even encroach on their privacy and be completely dumbfounded and have no words - what would I really want to say/ask them? Not the usual mundane rubbish interviewers come out with - something to make them laugh and really resonate to the heart, letting them know just how much they mean to me, without coming across as some over excited looney. Wonder what others think?

It's always a bummer that we got to wait around for the good stuff but you know what I think it will be a good thing because I want Ahsoka Season 2 to be great. I want whatever we get out of Star Wars whether it's from the movies or Disney+ even if we get less content than we used to at least as live action I would prefer that they take as long as they need to make great shows and movies because I'll wait for quality.

Bruh wtf how is reylo the greatest love story ever told? 1.there was no love there was never anything romantic between them Rey Even starts out hating Kyle. 2.it's toxic and abusive 3.He punishes her for rejecting him. During The Rise of Skywalker, their scenes for most of the film involve Kylo hunting her down, chastising her and ordering her around. Rey repeatedly begs him to leave her alone when he enters her mind without permission. In short, he doesn't respect her boundaries.

First who is Ray Even? :) Second, you might want to watch the movies again or listen to the writer director himself: "Per The Direct, Rian Johnson chatted about the Rey and Kylo Ren dynamic in an interview with USA Today bestselling author Sariah Wilson. Wilson tweeted that “Rian absolutely saw them [Rey and Kylo Ren] as a romance”, and that, “there was more to their stories and growth and arcs, but he saw them as romantic and intimate.” Not to mention JJ and Terrio (writers/ Dir TROS) had them kiss at the end and that wasn't a bro-sis kiss either...if it was that's pretty creepy IMO. Have a great day!

@@JonJustice bruh you know damn well who I'm talking about don't try to play dumb because of a typo. I don't care what some random best-selling author thinks her saying that she believed that Ryan saw them as romantic means nothing. There was almost no romance between the two characters because the story wasn't written as a love story and even if it was it is a very toxic relationship. I don't need to re-watch the movies you know why because there's nothing there absolutely nothing she spends the whole first movie and the beginning of the second movie hating kylo Ren and calling him a monster. Then in the second movie she tries to turn kylo to the light side and they touch fingers again goes absolutely nowhere there is no actual romance. Ending in the third movie where they actually kiss again there's nothing there to spend most of the movie fighting and rey even tries to kill him. Any actual romance that you see between these two characters is nothing but fantasy even JJ Abrams said that the relationship between Rey and kylo is that of a brother sister relationship not a romance one try again. Your support of a toxic relationship like this is very disturbing and offensive especially because I am somebody who was in a toxic abusive relationship.

If you need any video ideas for September, I just happened to stumble across a "Enjoy the silence" video that was filmed on top of the the twin towers. I've never seen this one before! Look up "Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence (Rare World Trade Center Music Video) WTC RAW". Not sure if you've covered the backstory of this one ever on your podcast, but it might make for an interesting upcoming topic if you're able to dig up any info on it.

Theyre going to have to pull out all the stops for Favreau's and Filoni's films. And I mean the OT trio has to be in it. Theyre the heart of Star Wars and theyre all in their primes during that timeline and there is no excuse not to use them. I've been saying they should give us the movie we all wanted , with all of them together on screen for an adventure. One of Disneys biggest mistakes was to not do that.
